Wow, a Salt Lake City blog thinks that Kessler should have played more. I'm shocked.

He is right, and Kerrs failure to utilize Kessler took JJJ away from the strength of his game. Wish we had Kessler on the Grizz last season, maybe we beat the Fakers.

No, he's not. It's Monday morning quarterbacking at its worst. Kessler didn't play much at all, and probably shouldn't have been on the team. He definitely won't be on the Olympic team next year in Paris.

I'm not a big Kerr fan, but it's not his fault that Jaren was constantly in foul trouble and rebounds so poorly. If Bam or Embiid is on the Olympic team, it won't be an issue, because Jaren will be on the bench.

If Jaren has been a poor rebounder and has had foul trouble issues his entire career isn't it a coaches job to account for that?

Absolutely. You dont play Mark McGwire in center field or bat Brooks Robinson lead off.

Account for that how? By listening to a 20 year old Utah blogger who wants his team's rookie center to play more? Ridiculous.

Whatever the issue was, Walker Kessler isn't the answer. He won't even be on the Olympic team next year. Jaren might not be on the team either, but that's a different discussion.

Absolutely. You dont play Mark McGwire in center field or bat Brooks Robinson lead off.

So starting Jaren Jackson at center, where he played most of the time last year for the Grizzlies, is like playing Mark McGwire in center field? Brilliant analogy, lol.

Steven Adams, Clarke and Tillman played center

Adams played his last game in January.

Clarke plays almost no 5 anymore. Only 1% of the time in '21-'22 and 9% last season. https://www.basketball-reference.com/pla...kbr01.html

Jaren played 77% of the time at the 5 last season. https://www.basketball-reference.com/pla...sja02.html

When Jaren and X played together, Jaren almost always guards 5. Like in the Lakers series, Jaren guarded AD, and X guarded LeBron.

Back to FIBA, Steph and KD and Tatum and Booker and Embiid didn't play. A lot of our guys don't care about FIBA, which is fine. Josh Hart started for us, that should tell you all you need to know about the team we sent to Manila.

Are you J Crew on the Grizz board?

So it's not not a honor just because they lost?

They lost TWICE, and didn't win their second round group, something that a US team has rarely done in a single competition.

Correction make that THREE losses including two in a row. Absolutely the worst US team in the past 30 years.

USA has only won 2 of the last 7 FIBA world cups.

We don't send our best team to FIBA. And the rest of the world is better now, so our B or C team isn't good enough to win. Not that big a deal.

The stars will play next summer in Paris. We will win easily. There will probably only be two players from this FIBA team on next year's Olympic team.
