It's safe to say that at least six schools in the ACC are watching this development with great interest.

Perhaps they are thinking that they could mount a legal challenge there. Sure the ACC gets the money, but if FSU pays their exit fee, is the ACC really entitled to keep the TV money?

There would not appear to be too many schools with the resolve, deep pockets (and legal loophole?) at the moment.

The one with the deepest pockets are willing to let others do the heavy lifting.

I see... FSU has more pockets, but I know who has the deepest.

Looks like a lot of attorneys are going to making a lot of money. Florida St. apparently has paid a bit from what Collins said. They also (with six other schools in the ACC) for the Mag 7 covert operation. They and the ACC will also have huge attorney fees fighting this out.

Be interesting to see if Jimbo Phillips comes out of his Greensboro bomb shelter long enough to respond to Collins' comments

The SEC has a pro rata clause with the ESPN.

Any and all schools Greg Sankey brings into the SEC receive a pro rata share from Day One.

The SEC is looking to stack rivalries within the conference, but GT isn't very high on the list, IMO. FSU, Clemson & UNC are all very high, IMO. VT/UVa could go either way, but the B1G definitely needs a football name, IMO, and VT looks more like a FSU-type than UVa does, to me; IMO, UVa is Stanford, aka "the Ferd," of the South. However, once the SEC grabs FSU & Clemson, the next adds can be non-football for all the SEC cares. However, the B1G definitely needs some football adds!!! I look at Virginia Tech as a "Florida State" in the rough, but believe it or not, the two programs have had nearly identical histories, again, IMHO. If FSU & Clemson are "off the board," the B1G would do well to add Virginia Tech, in my eyes. While I'm not opposed to Georgia Tech and/or Louisville being in the SEC (in fact, I'd actually love it!!) they wouldn't merit a top pick from me.

Of course..........that's what the GOR does.

FSU is playing a dangerous game here. Suppose they do announce they are leaving, GOR be damned. Nobody will invite them until that is resolved. They could be all dressed up with no where to go. Unless they have the Watergate tapes of Swofford and ESPN colluding to screw the ACC, this will take years to resolve.

That's what it says it does, but would that hold up in court (outside of North Carolina)?

It's there in part to make sure that the exit fee can be recovered. What if the exit fee is settled?

I think Frank did the analysis on how much lawyer fees will cost FSU. Gonna be 'spensive to lose this one.

FSU and VT are not equivalent. UGA was pretty consistently an under-performing, secondary program at the national level until the past few seasons. It doesn’t mean they share an “identical” history to Miss State. Believe it or not! Schools that have won 3 NC’s in the past 30-40 years aren’t in the same class as those who’ve never won one.

FSU has assigned their broadcast rights to the ACC. They have every right to the money.

The question is that are the networks willing to pay more to the Big 10 and SEC if the cord cutting continues? Fight to get out, and then you have no home to go to.

RE: Peter Collins (FSU Board Chair) ready for a fight (w/ACC)
If and this is a big IF on teams leaving say FSU, Clemson, Miami and North Carolina step up and agree to challenge and actually leave the ACC. Would the remaining schools be able to sue the conference or ESPN whoever is in charge of the GORs??? I mean Swofford put this together based on the fact when the agreement was made based off those schools.

What I’m trying to say could they state this is not the conference we signed up to play with, and now being forced to accept the likes of UConn and Temple and whoever else??? It would seem the heart of the conference could go away, and eventually the destruction of the conference as well.

Just curious if the remaining schools have a legitimate clause for escape???

Makes perfect sense, but Collins says that the GOR isn't the document that will stop them.

I think I was already in college but NWO taking over WCW was probably the best wrestling drama.
When you're NWO you're NWO 4 LYFE.
