The irony of this and Huggins firing... but this is a no brainer for us. Majority AAC and CUSA and even some Sun Belt schools have their own special brewed beer. We have how many breweries in Birmingham?
I remember when Cahaba had a beer at Blazer Village for the Return but then it disappeared.
Good People/Avondale, Cahaba, or Trim Tab or any of the smaller breweries needs to do this for UAB. Protective Stadium is already selling their beers, might as well sale a UAB branded beer for UAB games.
Now Bama is getting on the action with alcohol sales for NIL (like they need more money for NIL).
Tony Kurre asked my questions about partnering with a brewery to help with NIL and Ingram just said yeah good idea with a non-answer. Sounds like he wants them to contact him and not the other way around...
We need to do something though. We have too many great breweries and distilleries in the Birmingham. Can't let them make something for Bama or Auburn before UAB.
RE: NBR: West Virginia NIL collective gets 15% of sales from beer collaboration
Not saying it's impossible, but most of the local breweries are barely staying open as it is. Lasting effects of the 2020 shutdown are still causing issues, and their grain and supply prices have skyrocketed. A few have switched and contract out brewing to avoid some brewing costs, and two smaller breweries in Huntsville just had to shut down.
Heck, it took decades to even have craft beer in Alabama, so you can bet the state (and the Budweiser distribution monopoly) have done everything they can to bilk every single cent out of these smaller operations.

Also, Royal Cup was supposed to release a Blazer Blend coffee. They even gave out samples at a UAB event around the time of the return. I’m not a coffee drinker, but I would have given it a shot if they’d made it available to purchase.

Beer, booze, coffee, soft drinks, water and other consumables such as pepper sauce, b-bq sauce, salsa and so forth all seem to be good candidates to me. I have seen several short run or promotional products over the years so it shouldn’t be difficult to make these things available for purchase.

I asked the owner of one of the bigger local breweries about a UAB branded beer and the answer I remember is they don't want to alienate uat and au fans, and about licensure with UAB was a hassle at that time.
If you notice, none of them have a college specific beer they can. The most I've seen local restaurants try do is a Blazer sushi roll or mix drink.
