NIL $ for basketball
I was in the car earlier this week for just long enough to hear Bill Cunningham relating a story about his beloved Musketeers. He was saying that Xavier offered a certain player a million dollars in NIL...and he was going elsewhere... for more money.

If this is to be believed, I was shocked that X even had a million dollars available for NIL. And on another level, it made me wonder what is the "going price" for top rated talent and how much does a full roster like that cost. Presumably, there is no public disclosure or reporting required on such transactions.

Just curious, does anyone here have any insight on this or market values in the NIL era?

It sounds like we all need to drink a lot of Cincy Reigns to help fill the NIL coffers. 04-cheers

I think some details were missing too. Was it One Million per year or for four? Did he have to do work (Signings/Commercials) to get it? Was it incentive based?

No one really knows. People have guesstimated and there are claims here and there, but nationally a major concern with NIL is the lack of transparency. This was a major topic at the SBJ Intercollegiate Athletics Forum earlier this month. Watch the clip, even ADs are frustrated, commenting the unknown amounts being offers are causing numbers to inflate, un-level playing fields, etc.

I'm all in on supporting business driven NIL. Zero fuqs given about direct fan funded NIL. Fans already fund plenty.
