I wonder if all the other colored lines they use for soccer, lacrosse, etc. work better on a black field as opposed to green.

This is absurd in some respects. But I have to admit: It looks rather cool.

It's in the middle of Upstate NY. Other than the odd game in September, the sun and heat aren't as much of a factor as it would be in other parts of the US.

Agreed. This is near Syracuse, where they built a dome to keep cold weather and snow away from the football team.

SUNY Morrisville might want to go old school and break out a white football for use on that field, kind of like the NFL did back in the day.

Yes, Morrisville is usually 3-5 degrees colder than Syracuse due to elevation differences but still...

Could be an advantage when Utica, Cortland, Brockport, etc...come to play

The plus side: it'll melt the snow quicker in the late winter to get teams outside for practice. It won't show the dirt and grime like green does.

True (Native Upstater and Brockport grad here) but it's worth the publicity, since when else would we be discussing an Empire 8 school this much in July.

A perfect example of "just because you can, doesn't mean you should." Should be nightmare for both teams to play on at night, and everyone can have a heat stroke during day games in September.
