Basically, non-season ticket holders can buy a ticket to the UCF home opener, gambling that if Boise wins they get a free ticket to the next home game (vs FCS North Dakota) and continue to get free tickets for as long as the Broncos keep winning their home games. You must attend each game to be eligible for the free ticket to the next game on the schedule. Theoretically, you could get a season ticket for $125. I believe you must buy the first ticket by July 24. I wonder how much a regular season ticket costs (I assume this promotion isn't for the better seats in the stadium).

Of course, if UCF spoils the party by winning, you lost your wager. So, there's that.

Just looked at their schedule. After North Dakota there are four more home games:

10/7 San Jose State
10/28 Wyoming
11/11 New Mexico
11/24 Air Force

That doesn't strike me as terribly appealing. Their away schedule is much better.

9/2 Washington
9/22 San Diego St
9/30 Memphis
10/14 Colorado St
11/4 Fresno St
11/18 Utah State

Odd Gimmick

This would suggest Boise State has attendance issues when they are on a win streak.

I think it suggests that they have a clever marketing program and a weak home schedule after UCF this year. It's hard to read anything positive or negative about the program overall from this.

Yep. If their away schedule and their home schedule were flip-flopped there is little likelihood they would have resorted to a gimmick (clever though it is) like this. Since the conference makes the schedule, I don't see why the MWC made it so unbalanced. Of the top 5 MWC programs (other than Boise), the Broncos play four of them on the road this year.

And, they play the fifth one at home. I wonder if the MWC strategy is to give Boise the toughest possible schedule so that if they get through it unscathed they might have the inside track on a CFP invite. Either that, or they have it in for them to retaliate for their stance that the unequal revenue sharing deal is valid in perpetuity.

RE: USATODAY: Boise State football lures fans with free ticket offer
That’s a very manageable home slate after UCF. Essentially they are telling their fans to show up for UCF—we they’re very loudest for 4 quarters, and potentially land season tickets as a reward. UCF will be a tough opponent; they need any advantage they can get.

I have to wonder if jealousy is a motivation here—UCF is a P5 now, and Boise things it should have been them. How better to make statement than to ruin their first outing as a member of the Big 12.
