Effect of ESPN layoffs, changes on NIU broadcasts
Just thinking about ESPN, its layoffs, the MAC media rights contract and NIU tv/streaming events ... does anyone know how many times and what sports that ESPN now uses "local talent" for NIU events? (Know that part of the media deal with ESPN is for local equipment, etc., to put events on ESPN platforms.) Wondering how presentation/announcing of the Huskies will/could be affected. Seems there would be a trickle-down effect on G5. Is NIU prepared to pick up as needed? Any thoughts?

Our guy Brandon Suarez is about to call games by himself. Which is actually better than the rag tag groups they've been using to call these games.

That's my guess lol.

I doubt these low cost things are making a dent in anything…

The bloat is paying idiots for shows no one watches…then doubling down by giving them giant raises. Maybe people just like sports.

ESPN would be better if they ditched their late morning/afternoon lineup for the old stuff they used to show like cup stacking or the Great Outdoors Games or whatever.

The old Strongman Competitions would get better ratings than Around The Horn.

ESPN overpays the P5 conferences and underpays the MAC. Give the P5's a 30% pay cut, give us and the rest of the G5's a 30% pay raise, and ESPN will still realize an annual savings of millions$+++.
