Of course LiveNation is going to run 100% of the facility. They don't need them just to book acts. It'll operate just like every other of Live Nation's ampitheaters like Oak Mountain or Ameris Bank in Atlanta

Actually SMG Aramark handles Live Nation's concessions. Found that with some research on this

But through Live Nation, not individual property owners (which Live Nation owns some facilities like Oak Mountain, and others they just operate like the BJCC project)

If the new amphitheater here is designed and executed properly, not having to drive to Huntsville seems like a good reason.

I'd still rather not be in the hood tho.

People are murdered in Tuscaloosa - we all know the scandal that happened on the Strip with UA basketball players but I digress. People don't call Tuscaloosa or the Strip the hood even though murders and other crimes have happened there.

A bouncer killed a student at Georgia Southern many years ago, they don't call Statesboro the hood.

Yeah, but I'm not talking about UAT or GSU. I don't and won't go to games in T-Town. I'd go to Auburn before T-town. Plenty of folks call Tuscaloosa ghetto.

The Georgia Southern example is a stretch since it happened 7 years ago! And the city averages around 1 murder a year. LOL

Fact of the matter is that Birmingham has got increasingly violent. It's not unreasonable to ask the city/county to do something about it before we attract thousands more into the middle of it. Addressing the crime would probably help our attendance numbers as well. 03-shhhh

Part of doing something about it is raising the economic activity, property values, and tax resources of the area to give people jobs instead of them having to live on the street and turn to illegal activity, to occupy vacant buildings and lots to remove the opportunity for the illicit activity, and to generate funds for education and the police and other community intervention by the city to deal with the crime when it does happen

You sound like people when the Barons announced that they were moving to Regions Park. "Nobody's going to go downtown after dark to watch baseball. You'll get robbed or killed for sure."

Now there's an entire new residential and entertainment area by Regions and Railroad Park.

Your safety at Protective Stadium is much the same as it was at Legion Field on gameday. There's a whole lot of security out there keeping an eye on things. I went to UAB games there for the best part of twenty years and the only real crime I ever saw was a big screen that got snatched from someone's tailgate while the game was going. Our tailgate lost some beer once but that could have as easily been a white teenager or drunk frat boy as someone from the neighborhood.

Protective Stadium, Legion Field, and Regions Field have two PDs watching over them. I feel safer going to those venues, hence why I bring my family and friends. I don't trust BPD when they're on their own. Simple as that.

To address Regions Field, I wont attend any Barons games on holidays (4th of July) because of the shooting that happened back in 2021. Call me crazy, but my family's well being is worth more than entertainment.

What other agencies are "watching over" Regions Field besides BPD? UAB PD is involved, yes, at Legion Field and Protective Stadium during UAB events but they're not the lead agency in those cases, either

It's within/near UAB PD's jurisdiction. They may not be the lead, but the more, the better.

UAB does not own Regions Field, and when a UAB game isn't happening UAB isn't a tenant so UAB PD isn't involved at all in the policing of Regions Field

UAB isn't involved at Regions at all. There's no "the more the better"

If you think someone posts moronic crap, the easiest way to make it go away is to ignore moronic crap
