TV for UC/Big 12 sports
So now that UC is in the B12, their sports broadcasts will be on both Fox Sports and ESPN, correct?

Just checking as I'll need to make some changes to my streaming service options.

My understanding too, though either or both of those contracts could push a game to streaming still. I suspect that happens less often in the Big 12.

I'm curious when we'll get additional kickoff times for football too. Only three are released so far. I'm guessing OK could be late afternoon but it would be a spectacular Nip' at Night.

I remember when UC got on a regional ABC broadcast against Auburn in 86 or 87.

I almost could not comprehend that UC football was on ABC. Now look at us.

I was in Columbus and the local ABC affiliate which billed itself as the "Spirit of Ohio" or something equally stupid, would not carry the game.

Reggie Taylor had one great run.

US was featured on ABC's game of the week (vs. Tulsa) back in the early 1960s when I was in school. Brig Owens was the QB then. Since Nippert's grass field had already cured to a tawny color, the grass was dyed green a couple of days before the game to make it more photogenic. And then it rained. I remember dark green puddles on the cinder track which then surrounded the field.

Hey I remember that announcement that week too! I was really excited as UC football was going to be on "national TV" after seasons without so much as a decent local telecast. As expected, it was an ugly game. ABC wanted to showcase Auburn.

I think all Bearcat fans are excited about where the program is today. But fewer of us remember those days and are really blown away by how far Cincinnati has progressed. For me at least, it has exceeded my wildest expectations.

Yeah, but it was the highlight of the game. It’s all I can remember.

Who remembers the UC vs Miami night game at Riverfront Stadium that was broadcast on the new national cable channel - WTBS (Turner Broadcasting)? I believe it was one of the first Thursday night college games during November 1982.

Poured down rain the entire game and Miami coach Snellenberger stood on the sideline wearing a coat and tie the whole game.

Didn't it always pour down rain when Miami (FL) came to town?

One of the few satisfying wins in the Tubs era was taking down Miami (FL) in Nippert. I guess the University of Miami considered it a primary reason for terminating their coach that year.03-lmfao

CW got the rights from Raycom who got the rights from ESPN.

Sounds like a lot of middlemen taking a cut of the profits before it trickles down to the CW. Will they make up that money by going cheap on the production?

So I can cancel my ESPN+ subscription? Or do we know that for sure yet?

I guess I could always go the pirate route if there are 1 or 2 games that I don't attend and are stream only. 03-shhhh

There will be games on ESPN+, that's almost a certainty.

Yes. I also heard Chad Brendel mention on a podcast (a while back) that the Big XII schools have worlds better ESPN+ quality than what we've been used to.
