Fitzgerald out at NW

That's a mess. Imagine being the incoming coach, less than a month from the start of camp, trying to save a roster that, will no doubt be looking at the Portal for their options... It's hard to imagine who will step up and salvage this.

And, if they fired Fitzgerald, then they almost...by definition...have to fire the rest of the staff as well.

Ugly.

Does this mean Ben "Mahomes" Bryant will be back to compete for a starting role?

The timing is such it suggests major revelations of misdeeds are about to become known. Northwestern football fans should prepare to return to their historic years of futility.

I feel badly for Ben.
He wanted to stay at UC.
His skill set didn’t match up with what the new regime wants in a QB.
He transferred out of necessity.
And now he has one year left to play, and the program he transferred in to is a complete sh!t show.

He did a pretty good job for us. He could still be here, amassing 9-11 win seasons and pocketing 3-4 mil a year, but we weren’t good enough for him.

I watched the Pitt game at BW3 & sat near a Tennessee fan. We were talking about UT's new coach, and he mentioned something about how Lane Kiffin was a such a bad coach that it still pisses him off. I told him, "same thing happens with me and Butch Jones." He looked confused for a second, then realization hit him, and he's like, "oh yeah, totally agree with you there." Then I said, "I still wonder sometimes why you guys wanted him so bad."
