Anyone notice the ticket prices for this game? $130. More than twice as high as anyone else on their schedule. Next highest is $60.

Anyone going?

Hey, that a compliment to ECU - game interest pushes ticket prices.

Exactly.

I don't know why App fans are so upset that ECU fans are saying that ECU is the reason the tickets are $130. Because that's the reason. It's not a slight against App. It literally just is what it is.

ECU, UNC, NCSU, Wake would all command that ticket price. UNCC and Gardner Webb and Elon don't.

It’s more being perplexed no ecu fan on here was familiar with a supply/demand graph.

As I said earlier, congrats on the demand. We all understand it. I'm just adding that the game isn't worth that ticket price

I have no problem with app. They own the all time series against us, they won at the fcs level, they have won in the sun belt and have won their bowl games. They have an active and good fan base and could expand their stadium I’d sure if needed.

The ticket situation is similar to ours in baseball. Season tickets are sold out and no seats are available in the stands. Tickets on stubhub for the nc state game this year were over 100 dollars.

Really b/c this is what he actually said.

"doesn’t seem like many Pirate fans are paying any amount of money to see anyone play. The only time respectable crowds show up are when NCSU and UNC are in town"

35-40K isn't a respectable crowd for a G5 opponent? That's capacity or better at most G5 stadiums. Like I said, ZERO perspective from some of you.

Dude, if you wanna ignore reality so be it, but the times ECU is putting 35-40k butts in seats for G5 games is few and far between.

I’m not worried what other g5 schools are doing. From 2007-2015 it was close to capacity every game. We have an overrated fan base but at the same time we haven’t finished a season ranked in both polls in 32 years so it’s still remarkable we have the support we do. I’ve said the same about basketball. We have really good crowds considering how bad we are historically

And you've hit the nail squarely on the head, the decline started with Mo and hasn't recovered. There are lots of factors that have further contributed to it in the mean time but that's when it kicked off. Maybe it'll pick back up this year, but I'm not holding my breath.

The problem for the few ECU posters who so strongly tout attendance is the nationwide trend of decline in attendance for essentially all of college football.

Judging by the stands I see in Dowdy most Saturdays, doesn’t seem like many Pirate fans are paying any amount of money to see anyone play. The only time respectable crowds show up are when NCSU and UNC are in town. Sad!

Tickets sold does not equal butts in seats. I’ve been in Dowdy recently and heard the announced number only to look across the field at a whooolllee lot of empty purple chair backs. Hate to see more than 11,000 empty seats on average at Dowdy, should’ve just stayed with the 43,000.

Tickets sold is all that matters. I don’t think any balance sheets or conference administrators are going to ask your eyes what they think.

We’re not talking about balance sheets, we’re talking about how many folks are actually in Dowdy on a Saturday watching the pirates play. Way less than capacity.

Don’t you have to have someone pay to sell a ticket!?! 03-lmfao

Exactly and that decline happened to coincide with our collapse and hasn't sprung back. It may not. It is what it is
