Not all his ideas, including on expansion, will see light of day.
Imagine being a member or (or expecting to be a member of) the Big East then all-of-a-sudden, boom, you’re a member of the American Athletic Conference.
Now imagine you finally left the AAC to be a member of the XII then all-of-a-sudden, boom, you’re a member of the America 12. Not only that, you find yourself in either the Leaders or Legends division.

There's a reason everyone likes the Bobcats.
I was definitely just throwing out wishful thinking coupled with my chronic problem of being a smart@ss. And the arrogance comment was to show we can fit right in with former UT conference mates in the B12/rest of the state of Texas with how they feel towards the guys in Austin.

Assuming 14 is the number and no power schools are available, then I’d go with Memphis and South Florida.

SDSU and CSU if PAC isn’t available.
That said, I highly doubt they’ll add anymore G5 schools outside of SDSU. Half of the conference at that point would be G5 schools. I can’t imagine the B12 presidents will go for that, nor will media companies be willing to pony and pay to make everyone whole.

You just wonder, if the PAC can get a 6 year GoR, is that long enough to keep the Big 12 complacent at 12 teams. USF is probably a 4-5 year turnaround that won't pay for themselves immediately even at reduced shares. Memphis can compete immediately in BBall but not much else. Those two do not justify going to 14 in a vacuum.
UConn is exponentially more valuable if the ACC deems them to be as valuable as BY does. Then your hand may be forced. But the Mag7 appear to have no interest in adding anyone even it if means slight pay gains. This is the most problematic issue I have with UConn. Otherwise, I can see why they'd interest the Big 12.
If I'm the ACC, I look at SMU, Memphis, UConn, and UC. If Memphis does not meet the academic criteria, UC and UConn, with a fairly negotiated price, could be accretive to the Mag7 and others and fit the cultural profile, and it cuts off the Big 12 from ever threatening to take Pitt, Cuse' and other potential leftovers. My guess is the terms either cannot be negotiated or the Mag7 is completely opposed to it, based on their own gut feelings and internal metrics.

I'm with you. I've been rooting for the Bobcats to get a call up to the PAC, B12 or even ACC, as any of those conferences is able to ride out the earthquakes.

Agree. Those two schools enhance investments the B12 has already made, and both make great conference members on their own merits.

Assuming SDSU is headed to PAC.....
I agree B12 should add Memphis and USF.
However, UConn would be one of them IMO. Yormark seems enamored with UConn and east coast.
So I would guess UConn and Memphis.

Boise State also had a head start on investment on their facilities as well.
