Since Yeltsin the smart play was to isolate away from all former Soviet States and let nature take its course. Keeping the U.S. and Western Europe out of it was essential. That way there is no way to be scapegoated.
Instead, the filthy Bidens have up to their keisters in backroom deals with the Ukraine. We need distance, not partners in crime. When this thing blows we don't need any culpability and yet here we are. Complete Eff up on diplomatic responsibility to the security and interests of the United States and our fellow NATO nations.
Elections have consequences and the last one could cost us dearly, or completely depending upon how things now unfold.
In the back of my mind are the 10,000 single Chinese male insurgents which were caught at the border. How many are here, and how much of the infrastructure issues have been sabotage done as practice for the main event?
Careful. The brain trust here that like seeing Russia run red with blood will call you a Putin lover.
We need to quit fueling that fire
Ha! I'm no Putin lover, but I sure as hell am a fan of letting a fascist thug and pretend commie dictator choke the life out of each other. That's what is in the best interest of a free Europe and for the poor people of all former Soviet States. Piss on backing Thug A or Thug B! That crap didn't work in Central America, South America, Africa, or Asia. Keep your money in your pocket, keep your distance, you don't want ring side seats, and watch this on Pay per View.

Preach it Brother
We got bigger fish to fry now than the idiots of the DC Uniparty. Who has control of the over 4500 nuclear weapons Russia has? That’s a question that a real leader would be asking. .
You realize the warheads are useless without the codes right? I assume you're well versed in Russia's doctorine for using nukes? There's a process that prevents a singular individual from being able to both order & execute a nuclear strike. Several individuals have to confirm & pass along the required information that only they possess in order to execute the next phase. No one that can is going to use nukes in russia against russia and a 3rd party obtaining the nukes is useless without all of the required codes & exact knowlegdge of required procedure. Again this takes a chain of events and a short list of individuals to execute. Please stopping posting about **** you have no understanding. Fear mongering.
How do you know?
Putin is a madman. He’s already threatened to use nukes in Ukraine.

Putin is a tyrant. Those leading the coup in Russia are mercenaries. They have no allegiance to anyone.
I’m glad you’re so sure a dictator losing power wouldn’t use nukes on his own people to hold on to power.
Putin has threatened Nukes many times. It's fear mongering. Pay no attention. But if you're unable to sleep over fear of being nuked, do yourself a favor & read up on russia's nuclear doctrine & process. While you're at it, research why using Nukes aren't a real option for Putin in Ukraine or against his own people.
I've lived a long time. Have known many so called important people. They are all human and have flaws. If I've learned one thing in that time it's that nothing is certain, unthinkable and sometimes inconceivable things happen.
I grew up with Duck and Cover. I'm not afraid of nuclear weapons, don't lose sleep over them, had a father who flew with them, and a neighbor who piloted his B52 over the pole during Chrome Dome.
They've been a fact of my life. But we haven't had a situation wherein a major nuclear power was possibly facing internal disintegration. Putin has claimed to have built an automated launch system predicated upon the detonation of a nuke on Russian soil. I do hope that's just a bluff. Are you willing to bet your life it's not? My life? Well have much more in the rearview mirror than I do in the windshield. It's my children and grandchildren I'm concerned about
I know about the code systems, knew the guy who designed the targeting system in the mountain for NORAD. Absolutely it isn't easy. But there are nukes on artillery shells. I'm sure in cruise missiles. And I hope they have neutron warheads. At least the contamination to the rest of the world dissipates within a few days wind drift. But I also know that people screw up, bad guys are resilient, and that anything can happen.
The issue here is that the recipe for disaster is in place. I'm sure the German people never thought the Fuhrer would order women, elderly, and children to fight a lost war, but he did. Until you know with certainty that Putin is saner than Biden, I will remain wary. The world shouldn't have to consider it, but neither should it have ever allowed it. When people are weary of fighting, or haven't witnessed and felt it, they will seldom summon the courage to act. We are soft and decadent. We do have a halfwit as POTUS, and Europe is bereft of those who know what war is about. Our world has never been more ready for a cataclysmic accident than it is right now.
Vigilance is what is needed, not assurances. I am reminded if you look at assurance as a contraction it might well mean "ass are your chances." Have at it sport! Hubris and mass destruction are a volatile mix.
