Taking advantage of UT needing a quick scheduled game for 24 and getting them to sign a 2 year deal. 2 pay games to help out the athletic department

The issue is that ULM already has 4 OOC in 24, meaning someone has to be dropped or moved. San Jose could be moved to 2030 to make our home and home with them in back to back years. However, that would leave them scrambling to find an FBS opponent next year and it was a home game. If a swap for Auburn, then Auburn could pick up a FCS game and pay them less than what they would pay us. Or, it is drop Jackson St but that costs ULM a home game. Regardless, if there are any fees or penalties involved, Texas better be paying them along with a hefty sum for us to come to Austin.

We could also move UAB to 2027 and play them in back-to-back years but still run into losing a home game for 2024. My preference would be to move Auburn but I'm afraid it will end up being the Jackson St game. That is what I don't want.

Some of our less rational fans are pissed we didn't jump on their need for this game. But our '24 schedule is pretty great already with 3 homes games (Arizona State, UTSA, Lamar) and a neutral site game at the Texans stadium vs. Sam Houston. No point in messing with that unless UT would pay us insane money we couldn't say no to.

At this point in time, there’s absolutely nothing to be gained from our playing TEXAS . . . . Hard pass on this game. We don’t need that kind of beat down.

Absolutely that’s is an amazing OOC schedule. Next year should be great home games as I imagine we shall have Louisiana and Southern Miss back at home on top of Arizona State, utsa, Lamar, Arkansas State and I assume either a return trip from Coastal or another East division team at home. If not Coastal I’d like Marshall. I know they really miss their flights to Texas

Looks as if the San Jose St home and home is being dumped....at least from the rumors I heard.

That's the one that would make the most sense. It still gives us one FCS, one FBS toss-up challenge, and 2 lambs to the slaughter money games.
