There had been a push in KCMO to build new stadiums downtown. The current economy has probably slowed that down.
I could see Denver wanting a dome replacement for many of the same reasons Nashville chose that option. I just think that conversation is 20 years down the road.

Lambeau IMHO is the only untouchable one.
Eventually, the Superdome will need to be replaced.
Hard Rock is already 35 years old. I don't see it making it to 50

Chicago screwed up Soldier Field back in 2002. If the Bears would have just moved out and left it as it was, the stadium was protected by historical landmark status and would have been kept that way forever. But with the rehab done in 2002, the stadium lost its historical landmark status. So now there is no special incentive to keep it after the Bears move out. Probably just as well. Old stadiums are meant to be torn down with maybe a few exceptions.
Detroit's suburb Pontiac's Silver Dome had a strange history after the Lions left. But finally time caught up with it. The Astrodome I think is still around. The coliseum in Los Angeles has a lot of NFL and Olympic history and USC still plays there. Technically Wrigley field in Chicago was once an NFL field. That could last forever.

I agree about Soldier Field. It could have still been used for college football games, say if Northwestern wanted to play Illinois or Notre Dame in Chicago.

Concur. I felt an pre-reno Soldier Field would have been great for the Chicago Fire.
Your bolded point is one that many miss. While people love Wrigley and Fenway, I feel both of those places are dumps. I get the veneration of the fields, both the grandstands of both facilities were not designed to last this long and should have been rebuilt.

Where will NOLA get the money for a replacement Superdome? The NFL was a major contributor in the latest rehab.
For Miami the issue to me is land. While they could build anew at the current location, I get the feeling they would prefer to relocate further south. I just don't think there is a plot of real estate big enough to accomplish that.
