The nation is going to have plenty of television time to get used to CUSA teams. Here is how many times these teams are on national TV this year:
Liberty - 8
Jax State - 6
Sam Houston St - 7
New Mexico St - 5
MTSU - 5
WKU - 6
UTEP - 8
FIU - 6
La. Tech - 7
Don't undersell it. Facebook is global.

Didn’t that conference sell out to Tuesday and Wednesday nights for a month for the entire conference? I’d be unhappy if our season ticket pitch included a month without a Saturday kickoff.
They did, but what did anyone expect? CUSA had no bargaining power with only 9 teams, 4 of which are new. So much turnover. They had to get back on the good graces of ESPN and CBS Sports Network, which they did. Only a short term deal but yes, they have to live with October weekday games, just like the MAC.

Correct. Every single game that's on ESPN/ESPN2/ESPNU will be a midweek game. ESPN gave them absolutely nothing on Saturdays.
All remaining Saturday games for CUSA will be on ESPN+. It's going to ruin the fan bases, no matter how anyone tries to spin it.

I'm curious what the attendance trends will be over the course of 5 years with all of those midweek games. Many fans that were used to Saturday games will not be able to go anymore, and will probably drop season tickets.
A friend I know from JSU that has had season tix for about 7 years or so has already decided not to renew his family package, simply because they can't make it to most of the games with their work schedule.

Does this mean they will get rid of the title 9 commercial? I always thought it was amusing that CUSA was the only conference to have a commercial supporting something which wasn't the conference.
And just so no one gets upset on this. I'm fine with anyone supporting title 9. I just thought it was silly that the conference spent over a million dollars over several years, making and buying timeslots, to advertise something other than themselves.

Their new conference tagline is "Future Focused", which of all the conference taglines, that certainly is one of them.
The logo simplification works. The tagline doesn't hit any note.
I don't think this is the new logo they're going with. From what I've read, July 1 will be the date they unveil their refreshed branding.
They wouldn't give a July 1 release date, and then give you their new logo the same day they announced their release date.

That had me rolling as we played out our last year in CUSA.
The SBC promo featured all these game highlights and touted the league’s OOC record and bowl success. The CUSA promo had a 6-year-old girl saying, “Thank you, Title IX!”
But what else should you expect when your commissioner is quoted in print lamenting how everyone in college sports is “so danged competitive.”

That honestly sounds a lot better than what the former members had to endure. I'm assuming CBS Sports Network is more accessible than Facebook and Stadium.

From what I can tell, the viewership of CBS Sports Network is relatively tiny. ESPN is #6, NBC SN is #145, CBS SN isn't even shown in the top 150 networks.

They do have roughly 40 million subs, but a lot of that is likely due to bundling/packages. I have it a sports bundle, but almost never watch it.

Well, they had a *few* fans, but seem to be losing them already.
From the SHSU forum a few days ago:
Quote:I did not renew my tickets for two reasons. First reason was they got rid of all of the incentives/perks (shirts, banners, breakfast and scrimmage for ticket pickup, etc. The second is the new schedule has too many weekday games.
This is for season tickets selling for $50 for 5 games. Maybe some folks will show up if they give away tickets in happy meals and promise a t-shirt, dinner, and concert afterward.

If it's at SMU then it's an AAC aired game under their contract.
2 Thursdays in October just to be on CBSSN sucks. Fans gotta hate that.
