Kentucky advances to play LSU in the supers. Florida is playing South Carolina. The SEC is guaranteed two participants in the CWS.
In addition, Alabama, Tennessee, and possibly Texas A&M advance.

I was wondering what would happen there as Terre Haute always hosts the Special Olympics and doesn't have many hotels. The Special Olympics would have already secured the commitments of the potential workers awhile ago.
The tweet has 2+ million views and they are getting roasted. I feel bad for them - it's easy for fans to be outraged but that administration was backed in a corner logistically.

And it could be a once in a generation run for Indiana State possibly cut short due to logistical issues. They haven't been to the CWS since 1986.
Even if they could have hosted in Indianapolis or somewhere else nearby, their volunteer pool was already committed to Special Olympics.
Tough break for ISU. Good break for TCU.

The school might have been secretly rooting for Arkansas to avoid having to go public with the conflict.
Super regional hosts do have a high winning pct (66% advance historically), but hosts are also often the better team to begin with. In an evenly matched series like this one is, home field might be more like a 55-45 advantage instead of 66-34. So they probably went from a 55% chance to advance to 45% to advance by foregoing hosting.

One small consolation for ISU is there will be a game where they bat last (game 2)

Well the SEC and ACC have 2 and 1 bracketed into the CWS already. And 1 of the G5 is Southern schools. That means 11 of the final 16 are Southern schools and 3 are PAC 12, and the G5 has one from the Plains, one the South, and the other from Indiana. And that fits with where baseball is still the strongest in high school play.
It seems basketball, which is skewed more towards large cities, remains the last sport which is still somewhat universally played everywhere in grade school.

Indiana State President under fire as alumni are starting a movement to get her fired. She had to defend the decision in front of the county council.

That Vigo County Council certainly didn't waste any taxpayer dollars with their town hall décor.

A very large portion of the Virginia roster is from NJ, PA, NY, and MD. Wake Forest is full of kids from the Northeast too, especially PA.
Baseball is still a big deal in Ohio at the grade school level. Can't speak for other states, but I'm pretty sure the Midwest loves their amateur Baseball!
