Cowboys are essentially w/ this lead...all over but the crying.

Auburn goes 0-2 in barbecue at home. Got to feel there's gonna be some seeding questions after regionals finished.

Why was Dallas Baptist not a host site? Auburn hosting is ridiculous!

It happens every year. Thompson started our #2 against Penn and got burned in 11 innings. The #1 pitched today, but hadn't pitched in almost 2 weeks. A first inning error extended the inning and So. Miss hit a 3 run dinger. It's baseball. Disappointing to be sure but it happens every year in the tournaments. The SEC went 9-1 in the opening round games. Auburn finished 4th or 5th overall. Don't know about the Pokes, but the Big 12 is pretty deep in baseball as well.

DBU was actually a 3 seed in Stillwater. They played in C-USA for the first time this season. I'm not sure if that helped their RPI. DBU traditionally plays a lot of Big 12 and SEC schools in midweek games, so that at least helps their strength of schedule.

ORU is looking like a really strong 4 seed, as well. I wouldn't want to play them. OSU learned that the hard way last night.

SEC has a lot of good baseball schools; I just never liked Auburn hosting!?! Maybe you're right about the bias statement?

RPI, and finished 5th in the regular season. We lost 2 starting pitchers before the end of week 1 and finished strong down the stretch, but lost another starting pitcher in the SEC tournament.

The SEC bias you refer to went 9-1 on the first day. The bias has nothing to do with the conference. Where you find bias every year in the NCAA baseball tournament is in venue selection for size of venue and frequency of sellouts. The bias is in the business of making money. That bias is real. The RPI is real too.

I see on the ESPN scoreboard that four games are delayed. Is is weather?

Pretty sure it is for Fayetteville, Baton Rouge, and Coral Gables.

It’s easy to go 9-1 when you are at home for 8 of those games playing a bad team from an one bud conference

I don't remember who came up with the term "2 and Q", but I like it.

It means, in a double-elimination tournament, lose the first 2 games to be eliminated then go eat barbecue in the parking lot. Great college baseball term.

Indiana State aka "The 8th Inning Warriors" are one win away from a Super Regional after scoring 5 in the 8th Inning and winning 7-4 over Iowa.

Interesting looking at baseball.com vs. NCAA. Now there is a lot of regional placement, but some ranked teams got a really bad deal after not getting to host.

1. Wake Forest 1 seed
2. Florida 2 seed
3. Clemson 4 seed
4. Vanderbilt 6 seed
5. Arkansas 3 seed
6. Stanford 8 seed
7. LSU 5 seed
8. Miami 9 seed
9. Coastal Carolina 10 seed
10. UConn placed at the #2 seed in the tourney!
11. Virginia 7 seed
12. Campbell placed at the #15 seed!
13. Southern Miss placed at the #13 seed!
14. Oregon St. placed at the #5 seed!
15. East Carolina placed at #7 seed!
16. Oklahoma State 11 seed
17. TCU placed at #3 seed!
18. Dallas Baptist placed at 11 seed
19. Maryland placed at #1 seed!
20. Auburn seeded 13 ahead of USM
21. Tennessee placed at #4 seed
22. Alabama seeded 16 seems to be really weak regional
23. Indiana St. seeded 14 seems to be really weak regional
24. Oregon placed at #6 seed
25. Texas A&M placed at #8 seed (one of the few actually in the right spot using these rankings)
unranked Kentucky #12 seed seems to be really weak regional
unranked South Carolina #15 seed ahead of Campbell

You would think the 12, 14, and 16 seeds would have a strong #2 team, but they have nobody ranked.

RE: NCAA 2023 Baseball Tournament
So based on that, the SEC only should’ve posted for regionals instead of the eight
