Is there really a point to this WS this year? Oklahoma looks unbeatable.

I guess that's why they play the games, but IMO this whole softball tourney has lacked interest. It will get interesting if OU drops a game.

Going into today, OU has a 49 game winning streak. The last two games have been interesting: a come from behind win in the second game of the super regional against Clemson, and the first WCWS game against Stanford.

OU is a heavy favorite, but it's not over until it's over. For instance, Tennessee is capable of beating OU today.

I thought it was going to be a competitive game today, but OU run ruled Tennessee 9-0 in 5 innings. 50 wins in a row for OU.

I watched some of the Oklahoma vs. Tennessee game. OU is outstanding. 50 wins in a row. Dominant.

Oklahoma is a tough team. Also easy to play in front of a home crowd every year.

61-1, 53 in a row. I'm still sick about that game they lost in March to Baylor in a non-conference tournament. Not really, as the pressure to go undefeated for the season would have been unbearable.

Seven national championships ties OU softball with OU football. That's also three nattys in a row for OU softball.

In his book Bootlegger's Boy, Barry Switzer compared coaching at Oklahoma to feeding a monster. (That's not unique to Oklahoma) The fans expect wins, and the bigger the wins, the better. The football coach is expected to feed the monster. Right now, softball is feeding the monster. OU softball doesn't just win, they dominate their opponents.

In the first season since 1966 that Oklahoma had losing seasons in football and men's basketball in the same school year, the Sooners still won national championships in women's gymnastics and softball.

An incredible run for OU softball.

Congrats to Oklahoma for a truly amazing season and to the Florida State ladies for battling as best they could. I watched the last four innings. Another strong performance for the Sooners. OU was destined.

They are on UConn women’s basketball type of run, pure dominance. Congrats to OU.

I looked back at it. Really impressive.
2021 56-4
Lost to Georgia during the season in extra innings, beat them 8-0 in CWS.
Lost to Oklahoma St. during regular season. Then beat them 2 times and then a 3rd in the Big 12 tourney.
Lost to James Madison in extra innings in CWS. Came back and beat them twice.
Lost to FSU in CWS. Came back and beat them twice for the title.

2022 59-3
Lost to Texas in 3rd game of regular series after winning first two. Beat them 3 times in CWS for title.
Lost to Oklahoma St. in Big 12 tourney after beating them 3 times the week before in regular season.
Lost to UCLA in CWS. Came back and beat them 15-0.

2023 61-1
Lost to Baylor early in season tourney. Beat them 3 straight in regular series.
Swept through NCAA with no losses, beating FSU 2 straight for the title.
