While I hope those projections come to pass, I don't like them projecting Boise to earn the access bowl. I just don't see any MWC program taking the access from the AAC.

There is absolutely zero chance North Texas makes it through the AAC with enough wins for a bowl game. North Texas might have the necessary skill players for this league but you guys are 3 to 4 years behind in terms of D and O line needed to compete in this league..
This is ridiculous, you act like they are jumping from cusa to the sec lmao
Our first year in the aac was our best record that we have had since joining at 5-3 and we should have won the conference that year
Ruff was still coaching and his players always punched above weight. We still finished tied for 4th that first year....Listen to Coach Houstons remarks on the trenches in this league. By his own admission it took him 3 recruiting cycles to get the guys upfront neded to consistently win in this league. Also when ECU had its good first year we had a Senior QB and the all time leader in WR yards in Hardy oh and Lincoln Riley was our OC. Lincoln hid many of our weak points. It helped that we had one of the most innovative minds in college football calling our plays. When Ruff was fired and Lincoln left the glaring holes in talent were to much to overcome and were the doormat of this league for far to long.
I think you're discounting what we've added, or rather not well informed considering you don't follow the team as closely.
Our projected starting line has tackles that are 6'5+, interior lineman that are all 6'2+ and two of the five are power 5 transfers that started/were in the two deep.
On the D-Line, we're moving to a 3-3-5, and while we lack depth, the scheme should hopefully make up for it, considering Caponi, our DC is running Iowa St.'s defense, and that's been a top unit in the big 12 for years now.
Could we use more size up front? Of course. But I'm optimistic. Morris has filled the staff with guys that can recruit their butts off and coach well. We definitely won't win the conference, but I think we'll surprise some teams. Our schedule isn't doing us many favors, especially in the back half, but I could see us going 4-4, maybe 5-3 in conference if the ball bounces our way.
Then again this is my offseason optimism at an all time high. The mean green could crush my soul this year like they normally do so who knows.
