I’m curious how Indiana & Purdue would feel about moving their game to Lucas Oil.

Minnesota has the capacity to move a November to prime time indoors too.

Late November at night indoors is appealing to me. 03-cloud9

I read this is allegedly the Big Ten (via MSU/PSU) making concessions to NBC as "horse trading" that's necessary. So maybe this is a one time 2023 thing and we don't need to read that much into it.

On the other hand, if it's a big success, the MSU-PSU Black Friday game could become a fixture.

But most of the November primetime games are going to be played in LA after this year, I expect.

EDIT: Some Michigan State people on twitter were pointing out that it's Thanksgiving weekend, so a lot of students will be home, i.e. in Detroit, for the weekend anyway. And that's even more true for the alumni.

And maybe move Ind-Pur to Thanksgiving day. This way the Big Ten could have the following lineup

Thur Thanks giving day. :
12:00. RUT-MD (outdoors)
3:30. Ind-Pur (Indoors)

Black Friday.
12:00. Iowa-Neb (outdoors)
3:30. Minn-Wisc (indoors/heated field)
7:00. MSU-PSU (indoors/heated field)

Sat
12:00. OSU- Mich (outdoors)
3:30. NW-IL. (indoors Bears stadium)
7:00. USC-ND OR USC-UCLA (outdoors in LA)

We know none of the OTA will air a Big Ten game on Thanksgiving. CBS and NBC will each air a game on Black Friday. FOX could air a game although one of those games will go vs. the NFL and I'm guessing none of them want to. Now BTN and maybe Peacock could air the games on Thanksgiving/Black Friday, the question would be would they rather air them vs. the NFL or just air multiple games on Saturday simultaneously regionally? BTN certainly can live with 1 million viewers on Thanksgiving or Black Friday so maybe it would work.

If the Browns get their indoor stadium they want, I bet OSU would play there instead.

I wonder what UCLA will do in the years USC plays ND in LA. Usually they just play another conference team, but I highly doubt any will accommodate that now. Odd man out getting a long break?

Let's see.

Even years, Saturday after Thanksgiving
ND @ USC
Cal @ UCLA
Stanford .... gets the short end of the stick I guess. Maybe SDSU?

Purdue is almost as much of a Chicago school as it is an Indianapolis school, so Lafayette is almost optimally located for accessibility to both alumni bases.

Looks like PSU/MSU will be NBC and Peacock, not a Peacock exclusive like the NFL Playoff game.

The thing is, we will have NFL regular season games scheduled on the same day. They can't just book these venues in advance. Yes, they will know the NFL schedule in advance, but if Ford Field is unavailable, you don't have a lot of other options aside from Indianapolis. Minnesota may be too far from the host team.

Whole other topic, however.

The B1G should just reserve Ford Field since certain members don’t want to play night games at home late in the year. The third weekend of ever December the NFL can just put the Lions on the road, or give them a Thursday, Sunday, or Monday night game, or give them a bye.
