We average over 21,000 attendance per game which is the highest in hockey every year, and at one point went something like 16 years selling out every single game. We have 41 regular season home games per year, plus 5 exhibition games. The average ticket price is $90 USD, and season ticket holders have to buy tickets to the exhibition games at the full price. At one point there was a 20 year wait list for season tickets.

When we played a road playoff game in 2010, 21,000 tickets to our HOME arena were sold in an hour to watch the game on a giant screen.

South Carolina mostly sucks but still averages 80,000 per game when they go 4-8. Nashville...frigging NASHVILLE is the 3rd most expensive place to watch a game in the entire NHL and average over 17,000 per game.

Our fans have so many excuses it is ridiculous. Games aren't played on the same street they live on, and they have to drive 30 minutes or more to games, games aren't on campus, are downtown, are in the Pinch neighborhood with nothing else to do, traffic leaving the stadium/arena, games against not great opponents, no stars on the team, bad weather, church, high school football, no parking, ticket prices, the cost of concessions, the cost of food and drinks on Beale, the coach isn't good, the coach isn't nice, the conference sucks, crappy music on the PA system, don't like the Ashley Furniture commercials, too many ads during timeouts, PA system is too loud, don't like PA announcer, helmet stickers, heat, cold, rain, not wanting to spend the day/night at a game when the weather is perfect, youth soccer, the bathrooms, the scoreboard showing a couple singing Rocky Top, the sirens, poor sound quality, no chairbacks, portable chairbacks going up $5 per game in price, Tiger Lane prices going up $200, The Grizzlies, the circus, flat screen tv's...

I've never seen anything like it.

You left out had to work 12 hours in an office.

https://www.indeed.com/m/

You need that more than me lil buddy. I'm not whining about having to work 12 hours a day. 03-lmfao

Nobody’s whining. That’s what you don’t get.
And trust me, you don’t wanna compare our jobs.

Classic cowardly response. It’s amazing what people say behind keyboards but don’t have the balls to say to your face.

Ok tough internet guy. What is your job? Double naught spy?

I figure you to be about 25 years old and been coddled all your life and there is a good chance you don't know what work is.

If I worked 12 hours in an office and I had tickets on the 6th row I wouldn't miss a game. What better way to relieve stress than cheering the Tigers and enjoying an adult beverage.

You might not know this but there are folks of an older age group that would have absolutely no problem saying anything to your face. Some of this will make a lot more sense to you once you grow up.

It amazes me how some posters give a pass to the dude. Are they afraid he will call them an idiot/dumb/stupid or less of a fan. Disagree with him and thats his M.O. every single time.

Being born and reared in MEMPHIS, I thought we had a clannish attitude and mentality .

It was always us against the world .

Heck we even had slogans/mantras/motto.

We had tee shirts with "MEMPHIS AGAINST THE WORLD"-"MEMPHIS AGAINST EVERYBODY".

The guy comes on here and berates/criticizes/critiques/attacks and makes fun of MEMPHIANS and mid south fans excuses for not going to games .

He suggests that we are not real fans like the people where he is from. MEMPHIS people bad but Montreal people good

Yet he admits that he has ONLY been to the forum ONCE in his entire existence . Was it (concert-nba-TIGERS) ? but just once

He comes on here and points fingers and accuses others of what he HIMSELF IS GUILTY OF. There's a word for that.

The way he attacks and insults MEMPHIANS and the people in the area --reminds me of Andy Kaufman back in the day LOL

No, you just don’t understand how any of this works.

Wiseman, Williams, 3 years of NCAA/IARP, our whole offensive line injured, losing Gainwell and Coxie, no practices for one month because of covid, Aresco not allowing us to play Houston and Wichita, the entire team and coaching staff calling a timeout and 3 referees ignoring them...ALL idiotic--------------excuses according---to Simple Jack NO------ EXCUSES!!!------!!!. Well they do have some students or whoever it is that call EVERY. SINGLE. DAY. Doesn’t matter how many times you tell them to stop calling, take me off your list, etc they continue to do so. Way too expensive for the products on the field and court when every game is on TV. That means my recliner or patio, no dumb a$$ morons and crowds to deal with, cheaper beer and can change channel when I want to. We still go to a few games but my gosh, lay off the telemarketing BS over there at the ticket office!
My point was that I have worked with people in pro sports who are responsible for attendance. That is their sole job. If they do not do the job, they are replaced with someone who can. It is all a matter of having someone who is dedicated to that job. It is done in pro sports so why not at Memphis? Seems like it would be money well spent and at least those on this board could point the finger at someone and say "It's his fault for doing a bad job!" Right now...exactly who can you blame?

We now have a generation of kids who are now more invested in the Grizzlies as young adults than they are the Tigers. If the team is mediocre and the schedule mediocre than support is going to be mediocre. The days of the Tigers being the primary office talk around the proverbial water cooler are over.

You know exactly what his job is Hernando…er…Southaven. You also know that in addition to working, and studying, he takes care of a special needs child, one that he CHOOSES to support, not obliged to care for. And believe me, that is a full time job in itself. In my book, that makes him a saint. But you continue to ridicule him from your “Hills-ey” abode.

I don't know what he is but he is not an attorney. Had no idea he was studying. How would I know this? To post his work address and encourage someone to come confront him is bush league. I'm sure the Balins will be impressed when they find out that is what he has done. His daddy might not be happy about it either.

The deal about the child is wonderful. Perhaps he should learn some manners while he continues his sainthood?

Tell me how I ridiculed him. You can't because you are trying to exaggerate a situation that you have no involvement in. Having a buddy take up for him probably because he got warning point for being an idiot on here. His comments, twice, about "come say it to my face" is one I first read about in the bible when Joseph, who is a saint, said in regards to Mary not being a virgin. Very saintly.

Also with this post you have violated step 21 of the AUP:

21) Attempts to "out" (disclose) a poster's true identity is regarded as a severe breach of privacy and may result in immediate banning without prior warning.

But it doesn’t take an Einstein to figure out your aliases.

Yawn. I told you to come see me to see if we could squash whatever problem you had with me and maybe let you use some tickets this year. Sigh. Another good gesture by me.

that would be a great idea, however those in charge of the Admin at the University of Memphis think that they cannot afford that position even thought they are seling a produce with a marginal cost of next to zero...

they did hire a firm a few years ago to call old season ticket holders to see if they would rebuy... with mixed results.
