With our schedule we can probably only afford to drop 1 or 2 games OOC and they can't be home games. Also need to split with the top teams in the league (Memphis, FAU, Tulane) and drop no more than 3 or 4.

Basketball Media Days always takes me back to when Jeff Lebo would complain that C-USA teams needed to play stronger competition to get more at-large spots but then would play four non-D1 schools at home every season.

Kind of related, but I'm pretty stoked to see that almost all of our games will be on ESPN+. That is quite a changeup from years past

Only 3 games all season that aren't on at least ESPN+ by my count.

I don't know about that...plenty of our fans are miserable even when we do win.

Ain't that the truth. We've won more games over the past three years than we have at any time in our history, but basketball game threads often read like we are 5-25 and getting blown out by 30.

When we quit expecting perfection in a sport where no one is ever perfect we will enjoy the game more.

No, not ok with NIT being a consolation end goal.

If you don’t want expectations, stay out of the portal. Recruit HS players and develop them.

I’ve enjoyed the last two seasons but especially last season was a disappointment relative to expectations. We had a team built for tourney or bust. We didn’t make it. Simple as that.

And I will also add beating bottom dwelling FIU type teams at
Home by less than 5’points and Gaines is turning the ball over 5-10 times a game is pretty miserable, especially when you should’ve been a second weekend tournament type of team.

We still had a very successful season, but it did not meet expectations. Some people are ok with that.
