Interesting comments by Coach Dilfer.

Says Key was the only offseason transfer of a starter, post-spring. But there was of course Dylan Hopkins. Still a good retention rate, for sure. Actually, very impressive that guys stuck around.

I think Zeno was going to be the guy all along. He best fist what he wants to do. Still you hate to lose a guy with that much experience.

"the UAB players were unified in their desire for Bryant Vincent to shed the interim label and become the program’s head coach.

Their message came out clear.

Hire Vincent or the transfer portal will fill up.

Neither of those things happened."

Guess the sky didn't fall as some folks were trying to have others believe. Glad they stayed and decided to give Dilfer a chance.

Don't agree with that. We all are entitled to our own opinion. Honestly, I think Hopkins would have fit nicely into this system. Just don't think he was willing to do everything asked of him by Dilfer. With that said, I think Zeno will have a nice season if he stays healthy.

In Vincent’s offense, you simply hand the ball off or try one deep ball a series. Dilfer will expect his QB to run the offense as he tries to prepare them for the next level. Hop had been around how long and got better at what?
