EA Sports College Football
EA Sports has come out and said all FBS players that opt in for NIL will get $500. That’s a nice get for every roster spot, especially for those “G5” schools rosters that don’t get much attention or NIL opportunities.

Not sure about FCS, but with so many of those teams playing on FBS schedules, there may be some demand.

There's no reason to say no. Some players might want more money but I think most everyone would want their names and likeness in the game. I would assume that the biggest complaints would be the stats given to the players.

If the FCS teams aren't on it I'm not buying it. My guess is that they won't be. Not sure if this game will be available for both PS4 and PS5, or just PS5. I can't justify spending $500 (according to my cousin) on a PS5 either. I'm still playing PS3 and PS2. Not sure how much a PS4 is, but they surely aren't $500.

It only takes 1 star player to holdout and ruin the whole game.

Why would they devalue their NIL brand for a measly $500?

Caleb Williams can hold out and get more money.

1. Players would probably be happy to be in this game for free.

2. Why tf would anyone opt out?

3. If one were to opt out they'd probably be RB #21 or whatever like in the old games. Just with the opposite skin tone or something.

The only way the players make money is off their Name, Image and Likeness. No one in their right mind would give that away for free.

For Money and the value of their brand. You don't go from signing a AT&T NIL deal worth hundreds of thousands of dollars to giving it away to EA Sports for next to nothing. Your Brand is a Business now.

I think you would notice if the Heisman Trophy favorite wasn't in the game. Dramatically changes the game.

Couldn't care less. This game is about the programs not the players, imo. Let us choose to buy a version with no player NIL and I'd buy it if it was 5 bucks cheaper.

Exactly. Sure it'd be cool to have the actual players but two years into dynasty it doesn't matter any more. I don't care about the Heisman, I just care about my school, conference, and the schools I like to hate on.

RE: EA Sports College Football
1) The group license isn't finalized yet, so the terms aren't $500 per athlete...although the number is going to be in that neighborhood. EA is likely going to pay some higher profile athletes more money to PROMOTE the game, but that's a separate deal from the group licenses. Anybody trying to negotiate their own deal outside of the group license is going to be in for a rude awakening.

2) FCS teams will not be in the game at launch.

There was never a good reason to put players actual names in the games. The first edition, Bill Walsh CFB just used numbers. Buy a media guide and you knew the players.

The key question is will there be Conference Realignment features?

DLC doesn't sell itself.

FCS programs as DLC makes sense to me, and EA loves them some paid DLC - probably even more than Ubisoft (but not as much as Paradox, nobody drops DLC more than those guys).

As DLC, anyone who wants FCS can drop a couple bucks per conference, or $25 for all of them, and those who don't care won't.

I grew up playing this game. It will be good to see it back and with player names this time to boot.

Haha, right. He will be dominated like he has been his entire life. Checked his bio, Ohio State...of course.

They don't, but using them as an end-around to simulate player likeness, like you had suggested, is exactly why the NCAA had to pay over $50 million in lawyer fees and damages. It's against the law.
