He has violated multiple clauses in his contract... Breaking the law is not a prerequisite for a major suspension. The two can be completely mutually exclusive.

He formally received a 30 game suspension but effectively received a full year suspension for the 2022-2023 year and then will still have to miss the first 10 games if he signs with a team. I am sure that was taken into consideration for the suspension. Effectively Bridges received a 92 game suspension at a minimum.

Ja has had mutlitple incidents as well, it is not like this is his first issue with guns. The NBA has pretty much swept it under the rug.

This feels like one of those massive parenting moments that tip the scales toward the parents or the child IMO. If Silver goes soft (which he traditionally has) then it feels like it sends a message that players can pretty well do as they please without concern of much repercussion. Or he makes a statement (which I personally think he will) to show the players that the league is in control and will not tolerate being made to look foolish, especially multiple times over.

Sure and has multiple gun violations and Silver went soft at the end of the season (partially because of Morant's response and partially because I am sure he wanted him in the playoffs) and that completely backfired on Silver. I could be completely wrong, I am purely speculating. I just would not be shocked at all to see a 25-35 game suspension.

Yeah. I'm guessing around 40 games as well. There were complaints that the 8-game suspension wasn't long enough, so the second offense will probably make up for that as well.

That is what Ja's camp is claiming. I am not sure that would even matter to the NBA, fake or real. The perception and damage is already done.

Pretty much every NBA site is expecting a 30+ game suspension that I am reading.

Bad, bad PR imo to claim this gun was fake. It seems like a stretch and indicates that Ja still doesn't understand the problem.

Maybe he can be the next face of Daisy or LaserTag. The kid has cost himself incalculable millions wanting to live thug life.

Cant imagine who decided this would be a good idea. What a waste, hope he sincerely turns it around.
