Figured this would happen at some point, took awhile.

Now that WIU is official I wonder if we are close to a twelfth team joining. I think Arkansas Pine Bluff would be cool. Give us an eighth football team and a travel partner and natural rival for Little Rock. Also give TSU another HBCU on their schedule because I know they always schedule HBCUs out of conference.

I wonder how this will impact the Big South/OVC football merger. Because I was looking forward to that

I do not see a merger with the Big South happening. After the loss of Campbell, that conference still has 9 permanent members but only 2 teams with football - Charleston Southern and Garner Webb. For football only they also have Robert Morris, near Pittsburgh PA, and Bryant in Rhode Island (hardly in the south).
The OVC just needs to add another legitimate football team within the conference's current footprint and go on from there.

With the Big South down to three teams for 2024 involved in the Big South/OVC Football Alliance, I think we should try to get Gardner Webb to join the OVC and get out of the alliance and ditch Robert Morris and Charleston Southern.
