Sam Houston opening up the checkbook to pay head coach K.C. Keeler for the next four years. There was some concerns about Sam Houston's willingness to pay up and they have gone ahead, done just that.

Good move. With solid football and facility plans, SHSU will be a force to reckon with.

I figured it might take some time but it really looks like we're willing to pony up the money for C USA. It seems like it been forever in the making before we heard anything but this along with the facility upgrades will show we are committed to FBS level play.

I’ll say it til I’m blue in the face. Things are not going to move as quickly as our fans, other CUSA fans want, but Sam is heading in a positive direction. Got to root for the wins and hope they help lead to more sooner than later.

I wonder how his salary ranks amongst other CUSA schools.

Rick Stockstill makes a base salary of 821k with a total compensation that could get up to around 1 million.

Dimel at UTEP made $800k this past season, $825k in 2023 and $850k in 2024. Incentives met would increase those figures but I'm not holding my breath.

Seems like we are in the right ballpark for salaries then.

Chadwell is reportedly avg a little over 4 mil/yr and a signed a 7 yr contract. No math expert but guessing it was @ 30 mil total

Yeah, we have heard that from every conference we have joined. It doesn't always correlate to the win column. But right now we have been on a roll for a few years.
