People are really reckless about running with an unconfirmed tweet. I've been trying to see if this gets confirmed/picked up by anyone credible. So far, nothing. A bunch of comments from twitter posters just accepting a random tweet as true.

I'm not saying it won't end up being true but until I see something remotely credible, I'm going to stay out of the piling on and random speculation.

It's not really a random tweet, unless his account was hacked. Steve Norris has been a meteorologist around here for decades. I'm sure he just happened to be listening to Willy and heard it.

It's out there now. A couple of folks have finally posted the audio.

I don't think he cares if they do can him.

He's the type of guy that's going to do what he wants and everybody who doesn't like it can kiss his a$$ a la Bob Knight.

I'm surprised he's lasted this long. WVU needs Huggins more than Huggins needs WVU.

From what I read, WVU was poised to have a really good team this year. I was looking forward to 5/3 rocking with Huggins' return.

This is why you don't go on radio and screw around with Cunningham. And if you do, just lay off a handful of words that are never going to fly in today's society regardless of circumstances.

I'd hate to be their AD and President right now. They're going to get massive blowback no matter what they do. Probably hoping they can get away with a suspension and move on.

I didn't even know people still listened to talk radio. I thought we were at the point where people enjoyed music but I guess not?

ESPN just picked it up and WVU has responded saying they are investigating. I'm on my work computer and can't copy the URL from ESPN.

My first thought upon hearing the clip was, “Was he drinking before that interview?”

This was jaw-dropping stuff that so easily spewed from his mouth. That may make him a hero for many, but ultimately an embarrassment.

The man is already on the downside at WVU. The decision to boot him is an easy one.

Maybe WVU should not renew his extension and let him hang around to defame the university, a la Zimpher. ?

BTW, this is more than using offensive words. The whole thing was a cluster that ordinary people would know to avoid.

Huggs is too experienced to have an "open mic" moment. And given that Willie is an X homer, I think he picked the place and the time to drop this little bomb.

While Huggins’ comments don’t surprise me, I find it amusing that Xavier still lives in his head after 18 years. Might explain his record against them

he shouldn't be reprimanded. He spoke only the truth. Where else can a 'supposedly' christian university have pope outfitted obscenity laced fans sitting on the front row and cursing and yelling racist nicknames at UC Basketball players? it's tit for tat.
