BTW, I should mention that Murphy is not a married. He hasn't been married for many years despite posts here that he spent so much time in Syracuse with his wife.

RE: Murphy out w. PISTONS
He and his wife separated near the end of his time with EMU.

Unfortunately none of what has happened in Detroit (officially reported or otherwise) surprises me after all the rumblings about Murph's personal life when he was in Ypsi.

Earlier. I'd guess say 2016 or thereabouts. I've known for years.

I took photos of his kids say 3 or 4 years ago when they were in town.

I have tried to block out basically everything after the 2016-17 season from my mind so yeah that tracks.

I would like to quote a woman from work:

"You shouldn't 'have your honey where you make your money.."

She didn't follow her own advice and got a big boss fired. Someone took exception and took it to the top...

I wish I was shocked...integrity matters, we are blessed to have coaches like Creighton and Heath (yes, we all need Stan to win more), we've had Harkema, Braun, Bob and Sue Parks. Really good people who give/gave their all for EMU. As I get older, I appreciate that more than W's.

Maybe they should teach this in orientation...

Interpersonal relations, of a romantic nature, should follow the following rule (thing of a compass, with north-south, east-west).

1). Avoid relationships which are north-south, e.g. going up the chain of command the other person shouldn't be. E.g., a lawyer should not date a paralegal at work.

2). Okay, to have 'east-west' relationships. E.g., a person in another division regardless of grade or position. E.g., a HR specialist dating a computer specialist in the finance division.

The problem is as one goes up the chain to the highest levels, everyone is under your chain of command. E.g., everyone in DoD is under the Sec. of Defense including a program assistant who may not work in the same building, state, etc.

I think that is where having common sense, integrity, and a good moral compass comes in handy. If you have to teach that stuff, you probably don't want that person as an employee.

I've seen it a few times.

the most recent a mid-level employee dated her 3rd level boss, a SES government employee. Her boss, 2nd level, took exception and got her husband, who had pull at the top of the chain of the command...

The SES was asked to leave.

I got to believe this stuff happens more and more at the HIGHER level of a company or agency than at the bottom.

Yeah, I think most of us have seen things like this first hand. I definitely have and I think it happens at all levels. I'm tempted to say it is almost human nature. Most people can exercise self control and a few can't.

Bob, I agree. I have to admit that in the 80's, yours truly should have been fired for his relationships with female employees. Yes, it was 40 years ago, the rules were different then and the women were indeed flirtatious.

Nevertheless, while all three women are friends of mine today, I still regret my slimy behavior and often remember it with a ton of regret.

I think we on this board have been trying Coach Murphy in the court of Public Opinion. Thanks for posting. Sounds like we were getting only one side of the story before.

Initially we got one side of the Bates case and now this one.

In legal cases there are always two sides...
