I really think he will stick. He’s “got a nose for the ball”.

Probably will need to prove himself on special teams first

Tulane had 5 guys drafted and 6 more sign as free agents. That tells you all you need to know as to why they won the AAC and the Cotton Bowl.

All it means is:
1. NFL teams like to draft good players
2. A team with more good players tends to do better during the season

Agreed, so Silverfield needs to step it up and sign some guys that are good enough to get drafted. Fuente did it. Norvell did it. Did any Tiger players get drafted this year?

I don't know and didn't keep up with the draft. I suspected there would have been a thread if any Tiger had been drafted and did not see one.

This better explains the back to back 6-6 seasons. The NFL just drafts talent. Sure they make mistakes but they are as meticulous in their study and prep as any group of organizations I have ever seen.

probably a mixture of coaching and players. That should be last of Norvell players unless they have a covid year. Maybe Norvell didnt have that good of a class

Oh gosh, don't imply that!!! It has to be that they weren't coached up properly!! Seriously we certainly haven't seen the running back talent that we had back in the day. Maybe we will find some magic in this year's newcomers.

I didnt say coached up properly. I meant wrong calls during a game. Maybe somebody can look up Norvell last class and see what was there.

I wasn't aiming the comment at you. Just seems to be some Silverfield haters around here. I wasn't convinced he was the right hire out of the gate and I am still not but I think he deserves this next year to prove it one way or the other. So many times making a decision because the current players love an assistant coach is the wrong decision. We will know more about that decision after this year.

he would have done a full cycle of players ( fresh thru sr)so this should be the year. If he is successful, the the nNegative Nellies will say bc it was waterdown conference.

. I am sure everyone wants the Tigers in all sports to be good even though they are negative about every aspect of UM.

I would also add that what's hurting our players is that they aren't being put in the best position to succeed. I'm a big believer in maximizing strengths and minimizing weakness. Doing a poor to mediocre job in that area will make it harder for a player's talent to stand out.

Not just coached up in improving their skills, but also being put in the best position to succeed like I mentioned above. My argument for awhile has been that our RBs and OL aren't being put in that position. And that our previous RBs would underperform in the current system.
