I thought UAB had a "no coming back" policy for players who entered the portal.

It was my impression that it was Ingram who stated it.

I am just curious who is the starter if Key was going to be benched

Key was going to be the starter. No doubt. He was one of UAB's top defensive players. I could be wrong, but I think he was saying that the bench will be cold at his next stop and he would not have faced that at UAB. If that's not what he meant, then he's wrong.

That makes more sense. Moll/Fair/Moultrie situation

Key is a major loss. About like losing Moultrie last year.

He would be a grad transfer. While I wish he would stay here, I have no problem with grad transfers.

Generally, I agree with that - and also, I'm pretty sure it's a requirement for compliance to do so.

However, it was also being emphasized at a time when we were during a coaching search/transition so if a player went into the transfer portal, wanted to stay, and Dilfer really wanted them to stay - I think that stance would lighten up at that point and they could be reinstated. I don't see why not.

Dilfer recruited WR Hooks back from the portal........he might have entered before Dilfer was hired though.....not sure.

Did not Shropshire test the waters last yr but came back? I assume that means if you're on good terms & don't burn bridges on the way out, you can come back.

Trae Shropshire entered twice and came back
