While I wish he would stay, he is a grad transfer and I'd rather him head back home to play for FSU thank down the road at Bama. FSU could possibly play for a playoff spot this year. They were sneaky good last year - just had a 3 close losses in a row.

I really don’t blame kids who are grad transfers if they want to test themselves with new scenery. I don’t think it is always the best decision for them, but it is their decision to make and they earned it. They completed their time at UAB and fulfilled the primary mission of earning a degree. They are a Blazer for Life.

Sure, I would love to see Jaylen stay but I hope he will remain involved in the program for decades to come.

He visited App state last week. Haven’t seen news on his other visits.

Most notable other offers are WKU, ODU, Jax State. Rest is MAC and lowly sunbelt.

Was hoping he would go FSU. I don't want it to be a recurring issue that Bama and Auburn take our players.

Also, there should be a rule that if there’s contact even through a 3rd party to gauge interest between player and school before officially entering the portal, that a school should lose their ability to recruit from the portal for that recruiting calendar.

BTW, The Athletic has a subscription sale running at $20/year. Less than two bucks a month. It's well worth it.

I think what annoys me the most is if a player that developed here, goes on to get drafted at their next school. We get no credit for it.

When it’s imperative that we show we can consistently put guys in the draft for recruiting purposes. Otherwise, why keep having a program at all….

Gotta keep our heads up and fighting the uphill battle. If being a Blazer fan was easy, everybody would be one.

Great article. This part sounds like Dilfer the other day in his interview. It says first head coach - which makes me think it was him.
