NCAA approves rule changes to shorten college football games
https://www.al.com/alabamafootball/2023/...games.html
...No consecutive timeouts.
...The game clock will continue to run when a first down is gained.
...The game clock will be stopped when a first down is gained during the last two minutes of either half (no untimed down).
...Penalties at the end of the first and third quarter will carry over and be enforced on the first play of the next quarter.

Replaying way too much stuff in college football is making games last too long. I like stopping the clock on first downs and I want more plays. College football should only use replay via the coaches challenge. If the call is overturned you should retain the challenge. We watch a play for 20 minutes to determine it was targeting. Then we watch the same exact play and it is deemed not targeting. Expand what coaches may challenge especially flagrant penalties. I'd rather see games shortened in this manner.

Pretends it’s about shortening the games when it’s really about sneaking another 2-3 commercials in, per break.
