Cy Young, who came into this game with a 3.68 ERA, has one-hit us threw 5.2 IP, and has only thrown 54 pitches. Our offense makes any pitcher look like Cy Young.

Quick correction: this is actually Nolan Ryan on the mound tonight. We faced Cy Young last week.

Nah, he only has 1 or 2 strikeouts through 5.2 innings. Nolan would have had that in the first inning, especially against our strikeout prone batters.

Wow, we have life, sort of. Instead of calling the game, they've postponed it until it resumes at 3:00pm tomorrow afternoon, followed by Game 2. Why would MTSU agree to this?

No fear of the Owl offense?

Probably a league rule for conference series games, so long as it doesn’t impact Sunday travel curfew.

McCracken is listed as the starter this afternoon, TBA Sunday. What's Parker Smith's status?

More of the same in the resumed Game 1. Owls finally get another hit in the T8, but promptly erase the runner on a DP. 0-3 in B8.

Walk, SB, RBI double makes it 0-4.

A few more walks and a WP makes it 0-6 going to T9.

Ballgame. Owls have now scored a total of 3 runs over the last 4 games.

Devenny singles in the T9, but that’s it. Owls 0 - MTSU 6 is the final in game 1.

Not sure what you are seeing. I don't know if they have released the lineup for game 2 yet. I think Parker was held out of game 1 due to the expectations that weather was going to interrupt the game last night and limit his potential innings.

McCracken was still listed as game 2 starter this morning. That has changed now. The pre-game box has Parker as the starter.

Parker hits two batters (both on first pitches) and then a 2-out single brings home a run. The way our offense has been of late, that could be the ball game. I think we have 11 hits and just 3 runs over the last 4 games....and not once have we faced an elite pitcher.

BTW, anybody know why Garza is not playing again? Did he even make the trip?

RE: Owls vs BlueRaiders
Rice gets the run back on a single by Reidel, WP, followed by an RBI single from Holderbach (on 3-2 pitch). Smith then walks after Royo strikes out looking on 3-2 pitch. Awful AB by Devenny-- he's going against a pitcher that has already thrown 25+ pitches this inning and is struggling throwing strikes. In that situation, WTH are you swinging at the first pitch (soft ground out)? BTW, why is Devenny batting leadoff?

Gallo with his second single of the day to lead off the 3rd, but erased on a CS (though Gallo seemed to strongly disagree with the call--hard to tell from the crap angle they have on the streaming). Turns out to be huge, as Smiggy rips a double down the 1B line. No damage as Walsh strikes out again.

And then Smiggy doubles. 03-hissyfit

5 hits (including a double) and 2 BBs through 3 innings, but just one run, with 4 LOB.

Another single, and once again, nothing doing. Parker breezes through the next inning. Still 1-1.

2-out walk to Guy, but nothing doing again. To the bottom of the 5th, still 1-1.
