Last Weekend was a great day for NIU Esports. the Rocket League team won the championship of the Illinois State University Spring LAN tournament which had 26 Division 1A teams. NIU was eliminated from the contention bracket but got back into the contention bracket by winning the consolation bracket and defeated The University of Illinois Champaign Urbana for the championship title! A great win for the Huskies!

Such mixed feelings on this.

It's not like robotics where the self proclaimed "nerds" win.

Now if they won a bass bass tournament, albeit I prefer crappie.

Maybe NIU could do well in echeckers and echess. That is, until we play the Ivy League schools. Maybe we should just stick to ecornhole.

Thats awesome! I'm slowly becoming an eSports convert. I think it was one of the first times I was aware that I was old bc I just didn't "get it" but the more I watch the more I'm being won over. Esp after visiting the eSports Arena at NIU this weekend.

Plus there's some big prize money in the professional world.

Anything where NIU tops U of Illness is a lovely thing. Keep up the good e-work Huskies!
