@f1do, I've been seeing claims on Twitter that people with legacy seats are losing their seats. I'm not sure if they are just not getting seating options at all or if they are being bumped to worse seats so others willing to pay more get the better seats. I'm in Houston now, so don't really have too many people I can ask about their experience. What have you been hearing? Or what do you know?

I've really just heard the complaining on CougarBoard about people who have been in the same seats for years but this year with the increased demand lost their "traditional" seats during the priority seating period where Cougar Club members (based on membership level and priority points as has always been the policy) got first choice. Their season ticket FAQ even says just because you had the seats last year and are going to renew doesn't guarantee you get your same seats back.

Other threads I saw accused BYU of taking back seats they had in their family for decades. But they admitted when pressed that tickets they had been enjoying from their donor grandparents were passed down to their parents--but then were not passed down another generation when their parents decided not to renew.
Reportedly rights to those level of tickets only can pass down 1 generation. The family was no longer donating at that high level but wanted to keep "their seats" perpetually. All cases I saw appeared to be not understanding the priority seating process.

Personally I live about 4 hours away so am not a season ticket holder and just watch on TV. My wife's BIL is a big VP at a large company these days so flies in to all home and away games each year. My wallet definitely doesn't support that level of commitment.

Always will be complaints about TIX and pricing. It is human nature.

My grandpa (on my father's side) donated when they expanded the stadium. So I grew up with 14th row on the south 35 yard line on the west. We always knew when my mom died (since my dad already passed), we would lose it. I think she was able to get it reassigned to her brother, since it was a similar generation. But we couldn't hand it down to me or siblings. When I moved to Houston, my family wasn't interested enough so my uncle took it. I wonder if he lost his seats (I have no idea if he joined Cougar Club or not).
