UVA Tailgating
Yea, I tried to get 8, then 6, had to just grab the 3 that would go through.

Want to pack the Swag Wagon with 7-8 then have a couple 4 tops joining us.

Anyone have further info on “regular” GA or other tickets and prices/location? (Yes, I’m being lazy), but we have family and friends on both sides of this bill, would love to bring 20 if we can.

I posted this earlier in the thread, but I've read/heard Fontaine Research Park is the move if you don't want to battle/pay for reserved parking.

It's free, 20 minute walk (pedestrian lighting and path), and opens 3 hours prior to gameday on a first-come basis. Seems ideal for visitors.

Yep this is the spot. Plenty of parking with a very easy walk to the stadium.

There are also free parking garages close to JPJ, but its easier getting out of Fontaine.

Didn’t somebody say they were announcing the game time today?

I believe tomorrow the first three weeks of the season will have known game times.

I thought someone said on the 1st.

Hoping for a night game so I can go.

Is this Fontaine lot big as in Convo type big. There'll be four of us but I'd like to take two vehicles and park the two vehicles next to each other. Thoughts!

If there's already a deep sale, it means they know their season ticket sales are abysmal and there's going to be 10s of thousands of open seats. I'm waiting for the $5 tickets like I got off the secondary market at Louisville. There's so many open seats, you can just move later.

You'll be able to walk up and get tickets. People who think this will sell out are kidding themselves. They're overestimating UVA's support in relation to the size of their stadium. They could have a 35k-40k stadium and it'd be more appropriately sized for their fan base.

With the fees, those $5 tickets can get pricey. If someone is wanting 20 seats, I'd call the ticket office, most stadiums have a lot of wiggle room as it gets close to game day for large blocks. The only issue is that they may be spread out a little.

I was at that game and do not recall that many JMU fans. I think it was more likely in the 10k ish range.

Our fans and students travel best to the home regular season games where students are on campus.

We travel very well and perhaps the best in the Sunbelt, but .... not 20-25k to UVA.

WVU was a decade ago. The fanbase has grown, and being FBS makes a difference. Season ticket sales clearly show this.

FedEx would have been convenient for those in DC, but not people in Richmond or Harrisonburg or surrounding areas. UVA's location is ideal and convenient for most everyone to reach. We will get a substantially larger turnout for this one.

It sounds like tomorrow, but there is nothing on the ACC website about it. I had read today on a couple ACC boards. Night or late afternoon game hopefully.

Agree, Charlottesville is actually more convenient to our fan base than being in Harrisonburg. It's not going to cost an arm and a leg for anyone to attend. Very few will stay overnight. I don't know what our numbers will be, but with the exception of students, if we don't pack the stadium with lot's of purple at this game, then something is wrong with our base.

I will be there with about a 30 person group. Potentially more. Hotels are already booked. JMU is pulling up for this game no doubt

agree 100%.
This is closer to most of JMU's alumni base than a "home game".
i've not talked to a season ticket holder, or for that matter anyone i know who regularly attends home games who is not going. and in most cases, they are part of a large group bringing others along that may not be regulars. we'll have 15 k, easy.

Well, that's not good. I can see 100 cars in line to park all at the same time. That's the way it was in Frisco and it's not user friendly, can be difficult to park beside people you know when a lot opens too close to game time.
