Just booked Amtrak from Roanoke-Charlottesville on gameday, $9.25/person. Anyone ever pregamed on the train?

Now I know where my money goes to on the Northeast Corridor trains. Amtrak from DC to Boston basically subsidized your 9.25 ticket.

Wow, I might seriously have to consider that! I really didn't want to worry about driving there.
If the train is running a little behind, there's a chance that you might miss some of the game.
Train departs at 7:35, so that's plenty of time to get back.

Could say the same about my DC to NY trips, but I think the whole Amtrak system still gets gov't subsidies. Even long distance trips are generally a good deal, plus a lot less hassle than airports.

The DC-Roanoke Northeast Regional smashed projections and now has two routes daily. It's my go-to for getting to DC now. The kids love it too. Hard to beat showing up 5 minutes before the train leaves, drinking an IPA, and getting some work done en route.

JMU-UVA tickets through JMU are $40 before fees. Sections 113, 516 and the very top rows of 512-515. Stubhub is currently pricier than the JMU option (for a modestly sized group).

Single game tickets through UVA go on sale 7/12. The DC priority deadline is 8/4.

I'm going to wait for UVA's sale to start before seeing if their prices and options are any better, wait for stubhub pricing to come down, etc.

This is how I picture UVA fans tailgating (haven't been to Scott Stadium since the 1982 & 83 games).

I paid $99 for a 3-pack in what seems like good seats low in section 112 that included JMU and then 2 other games (Homecoming and Family Weekend) that I could flip on Stubhub. To me it was worth the excess to lock in my seats.

With a student at UVA for grad school I’ll either use them or flip them on Stubhub, it really doesn’t matter so long as I have the JMU tix.

There will be plenty of NC St, GT and Duke fans who will want to witness their teams pounding the Hoos into the ground. I decided to get the 3 game pack with tickets on the visitor side after my friend said he'd take the NC St tickets, so I only have the GT tickets to unload.
