A new AD and a culture shift and things could be looking up in the near future. Sad but I think we're just stuck in the mud as long as STF is collecting paychecks in Dekalb. Would love to be proven wrong with stadium funding etc., but I think he would have accomplished that by now if he was at all capable.

Who are all these big donors that say ,once STF is gone, I am going to kick in 6 or 7 figures? Who was the last big donor we have had in 15 years?

Change doesn't always guarantee better but at this point, there seems to be complacency in place. Honestly, STF possibly knows he's got nowhere to go so he might as well stay. And that's a hell of a reason to move on from him.

Often, I get the philosophy of not wanting to have a coach on an expiring contract but I'm not sure I see it the same with an AD, unless there's an upcoming vacancy in either the football or men's basketball HC.

So, what would change? Maybe nothing. But energy in the office would have to change (if not improve). It's also pretty obvious that what is being done, doesn't seem to be changing and the results seem to be diminishing.

The Convo should have been named by now. Okay...so STF couldn't get the deal he wanted. Well, less than ideal is much more than what he's getting year after year. And, tbh, had he signed a less than ideal contract back when he started the search, then that' deal would possibly be nearing its end now.

There also needs to be events (ie, concerts) in the Convo.

Actually, I read through easnoopy's list a bit ago expecting to pick it apart and refute some if not all of it and then something happened...I agreed with every point.

Why don't we have a better licensing deal for merchandise? These are things that are difference makers on their own, but all start to add up to something more than what we have.

Idk, maybe concerts are money losers and don't pay the electric bill. Okay...then steer into something that will pay. Go with Christian music. Trump rallies. Whatever the fvck will bring in money.

Out of curiosity, I looked up the Peoria Civic Center to see what events they have coming up.

Jo Koy
ZZ Top
Anastasia
Chelsea Handler
Some dumb card game tournament
John Mellancamp!!!!
Tim Dillon
Katt Williams
Cheap Trick
Buddy Guy
The Doobie Brothers

Why in the world is the PCC able to bring in all those shows and we can't get anything in the Convo?

Holy ****....RuPaul's Drag Show!!!!!

Back in December they had Harry Connick, Jr. and he broke the box office record at the Civic Center.

And it's not like the BMO Center in Rockford is stealing all our shows. Other than the IceHogs, they have as many country concerts with people I don't know as the Convo has coming up...and they don't even have Uncle Kracker.

More schools hit the $35M mark in 21-22, and the MAC average went up. We are still at the bottom though.

We used to be mired in mediocrity. Now we are at the bottom of the cesspool with our noses totally buried in it. But, as long as STF keeps collecting his paycheck, all is well!

Sometimes I don't understand why certain music is selected for videos.

Wow, half the MAC is above $30 million now compared to previous year's reporting. Kent State is nearly there as well.

Meanwhile, NIU at a VERY distant $21 million and last place.

Considering it looks like each MAC school's revenue increased around $4 million I'm guessing this new revenue came from some sort of NCAA or CFB playoff monies distribution. It certainly didn't come from ESPN tv revenue.

With 3 payday games of the 4 OOC games always scheduled, i can see why KSU hit the 30 mil nark

This is why I said we need to maximize our revenue with 4 (minimum 3) games at the big P5 schools. It’s a no-brainer. Sure, it will probably mean all losses, but who cares? The money is more important. And, who cares if we have fewer home games? The fans don’t show up anyway, and season tickets will be cheaper with fewer games. It’s a win all the way around.
