I'm glad they went with the black lane. I hated the two red tipped peni$es at each end of the floor.

RE: New Court
I agree. That’s a clean looking court. I like it a lot.

Hopefully there's a lot of magic in that court.

I agree... overall the court is pretty monochromatic -- hopefully by design to stand out better on TV or something -- but when I think of the colors in the Big XII I was hoping UC would make a splash with the red. TCU and KState with their purple, Longhorn burnt orange, OKSt orange, Baylor and their green and of course the Kansas blue among others.

But it is a clean, sharp look and the Big XII logo looks great in 5/3

I've always liked that UC seems to lean into black. It's a fairly unique primary uniform color across sports.

What, no skyline, no flying pigs, no city buildings?

I agree it could have used a little more red.

Personally, I like the more monochromatic look of black and white and Bearcat sports have built some brand equity with the black dominant look. We are surrounded by a sea of red starting with the Cincinnati Reds and moving on to OSU, Miami, Louisville, Indiana, and Dayton. In conference, I recall Texas Tech is red dominant on their home court.

And I like the clean simplicity of the design. Oregon can keep its putrid, garish floor design. This look befits a national championship tradition University playing in America's best basketball conference.

IMO, they have the worst court in all of basketball. It is hard to watch a game with that court as the background.

UCF's blacktop court always bugged me.

You know, I really don't like any of UCF's graphic identity, logos, or mascot designs. And I'm not saying that because they're a rival and two time conference mate.

I know it's a "young" university but I think they'd be better served in the B12 by going more traditional in design. They seem to intentionally use "UCF" now on everything, eschewing the directional school stigma of the word "central" I suppose.

Just how Memphis, Charlotte and a few others changed their branding to the city, the directionals (UCF, USF, ECU, FAU, UAB, etc) are pushing that branding. I assume they want similar comparisons to UCLA or UNLV as opposed to pointing out the actual direction or hyphen on their name.

The pale yellow shade that they call "gold" doesn't go well with black.

Several other teams use that "gold" and black color combo: Purdue, Anaheim Ducks, New Orleans Saints. Georgia Tech uses it as an alternate jersey.

The "gold and black" looks awful on all of them, except when they heavily moderate it with white. It looks particularly putrid when UCF combines it with this grayish-yellow shade:

They should switch to yellow and black, like the Columbus Crew:

Then they'd look like Southern Miss.

Yep. UCF should have gone for University of Florida Orlando. Then their jerseys could simply be UFO. Very appropriate for their space themed games.

Those were nothing. Look at the big veiny bastard on Memphis' court:

Last year I happened upon the Space Game. They do that well
