Of course this changes every day, but today...
New rumors are flying that Colorado is going to jump to the B12.
If no one else from the PAC comes with them, we might be in.
More likely they won't come alone, but still, if they start adding schools, we are in play.
Big 12 leadership has been so over the top stupid; they will probably take Colorado back. How far behind will Nebraska be? They are in on the money, but the move has been a complete disaster for them.

They know that right now they don't have a bell cow.
No football program that can put the conference on its back and carry it year in and year out.
A year from now is going to be very interesting as the Big XII will see its first year of ratings without OU and UT.
The network will be scrambling to try and keep sponsors on board.
In Big XII games that didn't include either OU or UT the TV ratings were in line with AAC numbers.

Every source you see or hear are Big XII sources.
Of course, they believe they can just smile and any school would line up to join them.
Keep in mind one simple fact.
That when they mention SEC and B1G expansion.
They mention current Pac-12 teams and ACC teams.
No Big XII teams are being targeted by the SEC or B1G.
There are no schools in the Big XII that would add any value to either the SEC or the B1G.

I think that is why they have to expand. The real chance for ratings growth is with the G5's that move up. Those schools should experience a bump. Those bumps will show over-performance for those schools which will help the overall conference ratings.

Not really.
If in 2022 you had 800,000 tuned in to watch Texas Tech vs Iowa St in the Big XII game of the week and 700,000 tuned in to see Cincinnati vs UCF in the AAC game of the week.
Then you're not going to see any significant increase for Texas Tech vs Cincinnati as the Big XII game of the week.
Very few in Texas outside of Lubbock and very few in Ohio outside of Cincinnati have any interest in watching those teams play and for sure very few nationally care about that game.
They will add new markets, but the teams won't be drawing 1.5 to 2 million that tuned in to see a game that involved OU or UT,
