The Salt Lake DMA covers the entire state of Utah plus significant portions of Nevada and Wyoming.

Now, does the signal from a TV station in SLC reach the entire area? Did they put the transmitters on a mountain peak?

Who are the smallest market NBA franchises?
What is the Smallest Market in the NBA? The smallest NBA market in terms of TV audience is Memphis. New Orleans is a smaller metropolitan area than Memphis, but the Pelicans have a slightly larger TV reach.

According to the explanation above, Memphis is also a larger metro area than Salt Lake but is a smaller tv market. But we know people in Little Rock, Jonesboro & Nashville are watching the Grizz. Heck, people from those towns even come to the games.

It's almost like DMA is an arbitrary line on a map.

Looking at this map -- https://www.truckads.com/Designated-Mark...is.htm#map --

the Memphis DMA overlaps the Jonesboro and Jackson DMAs.

Jackson TN DMA is 171
Jonesboro AR DMA is 183

The Memphis DMA overlaps them both.

The center of the Jonesboro DMA is not Jonesboro. It's actually NW of Jonesboro w counties away. Do the Jonesboro transmitters not reach SE of Jonesboro? They only broadcast to the NW?

in our presentation to the Big 12, we put together a slide showing our DMA including Jonesboro and Jackson TN

well they haven't for 80 years

Rice was one of the most dominant football programs in the country for the first half of the 20th century.

WTF?!

He doesn't mean that it was before black people existed, but rather that it was before college football was racially integrated.
