I found the description of his EMU year's 'interesting" as they did not put down his win loss record or the fact that we lost scholarships due to not meeting NCAA requirements when he left-I believe we lost two scholarships. Charles Ramsey was given the difficult task of rebuilding from what Boone left him and although Ramsey did not win he did clean up the program and left it in better compliance shape when Murphy took over.

Doug Kose, the marketing director at the time, should probably get the credit for those attendance records. His work led to him, taking over marketing at Tennessee.

Boones record at EMU for 5 years was 48-96. He had one season at .500 and the rest were below .500. His last season was 12-18 after which he was shown the door.

He inherited a mess and then players either transferred out or quit the team so he dug his own hole in a way. He left a mess. Hard to be worse than Boones 3-25 his first year. Ramsey didn't win but he didn't leave an admin mess for Murphy. Honestly I hope he does well.

He took a 15-win team down to the lowest win total in the program's NCAA history, just three. In five seasons, he may have quadrupled that disastrous total but he still never equaled the season before he came. Seems to have found a home in D2.
