We dropped Wake Forest again. Appears that remaining 2-for-1 game from the very early 2000s will never get played.

What is interesting is that it seems that we usually get over a million for a payday game. This contract shows that we are getting 700K for the game. I wonder if the market has softened for payday games.

That wouldn't be a bad gameplan moving forward. Schedule a 2 for 1 with a P5 team. Play the first 2 games as a home and home and then keep rescheduling the third game until the P5 teams gets frustrated and cancels the contract.

Usually Arizona games are at night. It will probably be a 9:30 CST start so plan on a long night

I can't blame, they are still hurting from this one.

We’re used to it. And the Illinois State game will probably be moved to a weeknight.

Let's just become an away game program. Demolish Huskies stadium.

For years, I have recommended that NIU play its OOC games away at the big schools for the payola. It makes sense since STF is always scrounging around for money and fans don’t show up for the home games anyway.

Good idea. Leave the MAC. Go independent. Only play against big schools. Always win conference.

RE: Arizona adds NIU to 2026 football schedule
The game was at Wake Forest, so there were only going to be five home games anyway. With the current structure, WF or Arizona. it is three Saturday and two weekday night homers.

If IllSt is moved to Friday night (which can happen) I wonder if there will be a ticket package adjustment, or if people will just decide single-game buys are the best.

IMO, that further erodes management/tracking of pre-season/pre-game attendance since STF&Co. will know even less about where things are headed.

Also, consider us lucky that it wasn't the IllSt game that was swapped out. That would be four homers, with two on weekday nights. In-state FCS seems to be our best draw.

Why do you think this would happen? This is not Labor Day weekend.

I said can, not will. Who knows what machinations lurk in the minds of our erstwhile schedulers.

Also, someone mentioned it earlier; sarcasm may have been their point.

Arizona is one that most schools do a 2-1 with. For 700k I’m sure there was a better payout for elsewhere.

Yes, admin. loves to move these types of games to weeknights. I guess in their mind it makes the game seem more important.
