RE: Can Deandre return?
Anyways, I have heard from people in the program there is optimism he could indeed play another year. But, word from his camp is he’s done. My point is if there is a way he can be back, I bet penny figures it out and convinces him to play

The issue is that without COVID, you have five years starting when you enroll in college to play four years. That's how redshirt players retain their eligibility for four years. But the day you start college the timer starts. DeAngelo's timer has run out, but it's possible that the NCAA would grant a hardship waiver due to how he was treated that first year and allow him to play his remaining year.

True, but what about DeAndre's timer? 04-cheers
I'm just nitpicking you Aardwolf, but I agree.

Plus, he is a man at this point - already 5-7 years older than his teammates. I would think he wants to move on and get paid for his skills one way or another...

Rumors of 6-7 figures. Deandre could play for any program in the country, but chooses to play for penny. How do you think we are in the mix for some of the biggest transfers every year when they can go to highest bidder? KD was considered the number one transfer last year in the country. Kansas was in his top 5. Nigel pack at Miami making 800k and a car. Penny isn’t going after the top transfer in the country and not working in the same ball park.

Prob cleared less than $200k in Israel.

And once again. Just a reminder. He is making money here. There’s a reason Timme, bacot, Kendric, are coming back more and more. Unless you are a lock for a first round pick you have opportunities to make more in college than you do in 2nd round or overseas. The stars on the Memphis team are making more or the same as the Hustle players.

If you know you are going to make it in the league waiting is crazy. The ability to earn money is limited based on the number of years you are in the league

Deandre WILL RETURN to a game here and there and he will be pointed out by the PA Announcer and he will get a standing ovation... He is finished playing here.

This is a big factor. Being 3-4 years older than a lot of your teammates like last year is not that bad. But he is going to be what, like 9 years older than guys like Mikey? Whoa, I dont think he would sign up for that.

Local media is so lazy sometimes, saying it would be his 6/7th year playing. Google is free. He's only played 4 years of ball and one "in residence". Honestly if possible, NCAA owes him with how they did him his first year in memphis.

Asked the question months ago: How is DW done again after only 4 years of ball?

The year at Evansville, in my opinion, should have never counted against his clock.
