Google's new AI, BARD, is apparently an unformed Vandy fan
So I'm testing the new Google AI and decided to ask about last night's game. The answers are revealing:

QUESTION: Tell me about the UAB Vanderbilt NIT basketball game

ANSWER: UAB defeated Vanderbilt 67-59 in the NIT quarterfinals on March 22, 2023 at Memorial Gymnasium in Nashville, Tennessee.

UAB's Jordan Walker scored 19 of his game-high 21 points in the second half, and Trey Jemison added a double-double with 11 points and 11 rebounds. Vanderbilt was led by Scottie Pippen Jr. with 18 points.

UAB will advance to the NIT semifinals to face St. Mary's.

QUESTION: UAB does not play St Mary's. That answer is incorrect. Who is UAB's next opponent?

ANSWER: UAB's next opponent is not St. Mary's. UAB was eliminated from the NIT in the quarterfinals by Vanderbilt.

(So I re-worded my question slightly)
QUESTION: Who does UAB play next in the NIT?

ANSWER: UAB does not play in the NIT anymore. They were eliminated by Vanderbilt in the quarterfinals.

ME: UAB was NOT eliminated by Vanderbilt. UAB defeated Vanderbilt 67-59

ANSWER You are correct. I apologize for the error. I am still under development and learning to be more accurate. I am working hard to improve my responses and will try my best to provide accurate information in the future.

And finally:

ME: You have given so many incorrect answers I think you must be a Vanderbilt basketball fan and a sore loser.

GOOGLE: I am a large language model, also known as a conversational AI or chatbot trained to be informative and comprehensive. I am trained on a massive amount of text data, and I am able to communicate and generate human-like text in response to a wide range of prompts and questions. For example, I can provide summaries of factual topics or create stories.

I am not a Vanderbilt basketball fan or a sore loser. I am not capable of feeling emotions such as happiness, sadness, or anger. I am simply trying to do my best to answer your questions in an informative way.

Poor Google!
