RE: Spring Football 2023
Just saw a tweet from Noah showing Brent Austin in a knee brace after what looks to be an ACL or similar surgery. My guess is he is done for the year

That would suck if it turns out that way.
Fleishman just had an article in the DNR on the defense and this was the quote:
The only spot on the team that has untested depth at the moment appears to be at cornerback, but JMU seems to like the young talent it has there — notably Chauncey Logan Jr. and Brent Austin, both players that proved themselves in their freshman year last fall.

Word is that Austin had minor surgery today to stabilize the knee as he had some problems again with it a few weeks ago in practice. He should be fine for the fall, according to those in the know.

Morris and Kidwell are healing from off season tune-ups and will be ready for the fall.

Black is in a boot with a high ankle sprain and is done for the spring and will be fine.

Lawton is good.

Punter Hanson has a strong leg.

QB1 likely not decided until late in summer - Barnett ahead - right now - because he knows the book and the system.

Thank you for sharing.
Really good to know that none of the injuries so far are not serious. Hopefully they won't be nagging ones either.
Really excited to see Lawton play.
I admit I'm a bit surprised that Barnett is ahead of McCloud even if it is just terminology that is holding McCloud back. I believe that McCloud will be the QB, but good to know that Barnett isn't far behind. I still believe in him and believe he's the future for JMU. I believe it's a matter of 'when', not 'if'. Just hope he is willing to wait for his time.
