Best year ever? I’ll leave that up to you old farts who were here when we beat Indiana or got to see Ealey in person.

I was in school at “TU” during the Ealey years. That was by far the greatest stretch of football in UT history, nothing close. Men’s basketball’s greatest stretch IMO was the first 6 years Centennial Hall opened but we’re in a good stretch now.

But women’s sports wasn’t around in the sixties that I remember and women’s basketball wasn’t remarkable until the nineties.

The short answer is that there’s nothing close to what the Rocket teams have done this year. They have been fantastic.

I would have to say yes. Could even get better depending upon how baseball and softball and track and field go.

I believe the ‘67 football title was the first MAC football championship for the Rockets.

Yeah this along with the Big 3, I'd say YES!

with a record 6 MACC ... I think it is clear that this school year (fall22/Spring23) is the the greatest sports year in history at UT...

Bring in a new athletic director and look what he does in less than a year....

You can be sure that will be on his resume as he starts to look for a new job in about a year or two....Why not, it can only go downhill from here.

Nothing against the new AD, but isn't this more a matter of being in the right place at the right time? All of the coaches and players were already here when Blair started.

100% - BB has some great ideas and is really pushing for new donors. But the success on the field and courts this season are a direct reflection of the work MOB did and the coaches he had in place. But to BB's credit, some of the longer tenured coaches (Wermer) might have felt a little bit of added pressure to perform otherwise they could be replaced since they did not have a pror relationship with the new boss.

Regardless, this is the greatest year for Toledo Athletics and the best thing about it is that it could just be beginning of a special run of years.

What's the MAC record for school titles?

Not sure if it's still true, but at one time Wermer was part-time. How much can you expect of someone in that situation?
