TV's LGBTQ Representation Is Down, and Mass Cancellations Aren't Helping
Half the men in the entertainment "industry " are gay, and not just on stage or in front of the camera. It's no surprise Hollywood puts them out front and center. Even in the 1960s the campy characters were on TV nightly. Paul Lind and Dame Edna anyone?

I'd bet that TV ratings are down for Alphabet shows and this is the result. Another example of marketplace self correction due to loss of market share. At the end of the day the bottom line is money. The vast majority of Americans simply choose not to watch Alphabet centered content.

Correct, and it was all self-inflicted. The loss of market share was either a choice or a poor read of the key demographics. Not sure if they are intentionally sacrificing themselves to push an agenda or if they made an egregious error in assuming that because society has become accepting of LGB individuals, they want to watch content centered around their characters and issues.

The old adage is sex sells, but only if it is sex that people want. And with the free and widely available smut everywhere, I'm not sure that is even the case anymore. Not sure there is a market for young men to pay money to watch a modern day Sharon Stone reveal her crotch anymore when there are thousands of videos of similar looking women doing the same thing for free that can be played anytime and anywhere.

I can't remember the last series I watched multiple times on network TV. It was so long ago, it might have been Lost. Year after year, there is nothing original or interesting. All just run of the mill cop or doctor shows that are dime a dozen mixed in with alphabet schit and reality shows.

I liked 911 Lonestar. There are gay characters, but they did not dominate the show, they were only part of it. It fit very well into the show actually. Now this whole current season is about their wedding.

I turned it off. Not because I am anti-gay (because I am not) it is just plainly obvious it is over the top pandering and it is getting overplayed now.

Schitt's Creek was by far (really far) the single best show I have ever seen handle that lifestyle. They never jumped the shark either, consistent from the first to final episode.

Yes, Schitt's Creek was fine. I did think they jumped the shark with that storyline, but the other characters and storylines made up for it and there were always 5-6 storylines going simultaneously in every episode.
